Yesterday I got a message from my neurologist's office that when I come in for my scheduled visit Monday to bring in the remainder of my current prescription. By the time I got the message it was too late to call back to find out why. I am trying to figure out why. Anybody got any ideas?

To find out how much you have left of the meds and to see if you are taking them as intended? That's what came to mind but I'm sure there are other possibilities...I just don't know what they could be.

Yes this is the reason. My wife's doctor requests this every month for the past 3 years.

Jimking,
Good point. I thought maybe she was going to change my meds and didn't want to chance of me taking both but your idea makes more sense.

I've never been asked to bring pills in, but I am asked for a urine analysis with a detailed account of what meds I took in the previous 3 days, randomly.
Recently I had a report from a physch doc that made it look like I might partake with the 420 crowd. It was nice to be able to say, please refer to my MANY years of drug tests that show I've always been compliant. Not taking too much or too little of what is precscribed, and Nothing Else! Usually this stuff is just office policy. And nothing to take personally. |

Just noticed this is a request from your Neuro as I was exiting out of the thread!
He likely just wants to see what your other doc/s are prescribing and the dosages. Your PT/PM would be the one concerned about compliance, selling your pills, etc. |

Well then there's no great concern if that's what it is. I take my meds and don't sell them... (Get your own...lol)

My Neuro makes the same request of me even though my PM prescribed the drug. He does it specifically as a monitoring device. (To make sure I am not abusing it) I appreciate all of my docs monitoring me.

Is there some sort of rule or something?
