The new Sarna "Sensitive" lotion has pramoxine in it.

So do read your labels. Sarcasm did not find steroids to be helpful..and so hydrocortisone would be a waste for this problem.

RSD can also cause skin blemishes...seems they appear on our skin in our affected areas.. I have several on my back since my internal chest wall involvement...they appear as dark, rough, circular raised spots... Resemble age spot on our bodies...

never a dull moment huh?!?!

Thanks, keep smilin....

I got the impression this was a rash, not bites or separate lesions. But people vary in the use of terms for skin conditions.
For instance shingles may look like a rash at times, but other times there are just discreet vesicles. They don't itch tho, and mostly hurt.

I am familiar with the posts here on skin lesions, and discoloration.

But it is always a good idea to rule out something on top of the RSD... especially here where the severe itching and spreading was so quickly manifesting.

Some rashes hurt (I've had photosensivity reactions on my arms that burned like the devil). But a very itchy rash, can be many things and mostly dealt with if the right doctor looks at it.

Taking a picture and posting can help with this.
There are also viral exanthems but they don't itch as a rule.

I am glad to see this post on rashes and itching. I don't get rashes but in the fall when my RSD is the worst I always get itchy all over. Two weeks ago I had blood drawn and my blood draw arm itched for over a week. Just about drove me mad. I don't have dry skin and I have tried drinking cod liver oil in the winter and coconut oil to see if it would help but it isn't dry skin so it didn't do anything that I could tell. Interesting for me though it tends to be worse in the fall, slowly gets better during the winter and gone by spring. Same with the worst of my pain. I can tell a thunderstorm 2 days ahead in the fall. My husband has quit listening to the weather and asks me. I will look into these other lotions to see if it will take the edge off.
