Mine were different nerve blocks that are for a diagnose. A little bit different than the ones to block pain.
The ones I got were administered in my ganglion bundle to see if and what nerves were actually affected by RSD and where.
If I proceed with a SCS than that would be like a block blocking pain signals.
Tests showed that nerve blocks done to another area besides my spine wouldn't last long enough to make the effort worthwhile.
Everyone differs when it comes to their specific treatment...

Mine were lidocaine based. My foot became nice and warm and red. But they never lasted more then a week. Then less and less. I too was on Cymbalta but got no additional comfort or relief. I recently started Abilify and am sleeping so much better at night. Up to 6 hrs. which is great.
I am on Neurontin not lyrica, but I can tell you I eat and gain weight like there is no tommorrow.

I am so sorry to have caused all so much trouble of you all. Today my neurologist told me that his PA did not tell me I had RSD. He said that I have Parsonage-Turner Syndrome. I have not researched it yet but he says that in 18 to 24 months I should be recovered, but I think it is good news. A lot of prayers were said for me.

I did learn a lot about the condition of RSD that many of you suffer from. I really feel for you all and hope my doctor is right. Again thanks for the concern and information.

I am very happy to hear that you do not have RSD...it's a real blessing. You shouldn't be sorry...it is no trouble at all.

Also what is the danger?

Do you get the feeling from your doctors that don't want to research this online?

I really thank you all for your comments.
No, your arm should not go numb. The block is done on the sympathetic ganglia so nothing is done around the nerves that control the muscles or sensation, per se. It is a very, very safe procedure that can go wrong with serious side effects. But rarely (isn't that nice?). I was told that even with a wrong diagnosis and a block adminstered on a normal arm, there are no untoward effects.

You really probably have nothing to lose. Mine work for 4 or 5 months. But then again, what other options do I have??? Worsening pain???? I don't think so....

It's better for you to be informed about RSD to rule it out anyway!

No trouble caused whatsoever! This is what we hope for everyone with a tenative RSD diagnosis.

Best of luck to you!
