Default Hot/Cold and all the in-between

I searched for some info on this but found nothing here, so forgive me if this exists somewhere on this site and I am being redundant! I get crazy sweats but while the sweat rolls off my body I am shivering and can't get warm. I can put on 4 blankets and roll up in a ball but it takes hours to return to "normal". Anyone else have this? I also have my hands go icy (a lot) since that is were my RSD is, but if my husband rubs one hand the other warms up as well. He says I should take it to the circus - LOL! I know these are symptoms but does anyone have any tricks for coping! I have tried hot showers to warm up but does not work! Thank you all! This site is truly my source for heart strength!

The only thing I can say to try is to get the affected limbs moving, to get the blood flowing and to help with circulation. When I get my limbs moving it does help to warm them up.

Sending (((soft hugs)))

Hello: I like to put a sheet or blanket in the dryer and when it gets nice and hot, I wrap it around me (including my head). Regards, Lil

i use an electric throw blanket when i am in the cold stage. funny, my feet are always freezing and yet i awake each day with soaked socks from the sweat on my left foot ... go figure! if rsd is nothing else, it is circus material!! keep your sense of humor .... it will save you.

Default Hi,

I deal with the same thing with the hot and cold. One thing that I have found is that I have to keep the heat up some to keep me from getting too cold but I keep a fan going to deal with the sweating. I've done this for about 4 years. It does help. If you get too cold you are going to deal with being in more pain so the heat is important for that. It can cause you to end up with other things such as arthritis also. Once I get things just right with both I can get some sleep. Also the electric blanket thing is good but if you end up too hot, try turning on a fan.

Default A trick to keep the hands warm in the house...

Hi,

I buy a cheap pair of cloves and cut the tips off and wear them all day. The reason I cut the tips is so you can not pick things. It really helps. Some winter days I really suffter,I also have it in my hands, but this really helps. The cheapest thing. I buy the cheap 3 for $5 at Wal-Mart.

Good Luck.

Hello: When I drive with the window down, the air bothers my left arm. I took a knee high sock and cut holes out for the thumb and fingers so I can still grip the steering wheel. It looks strange but it works. Regards, Lil

Thanks for all the suggestions! You all deserve great big hugs! Maybe I need to invent a body glove that warms or cools parts of the body on demand and can do multiple things at once???? MMMMMMM let me go to my laboratory- hahahah.

Thank you all!
