I just think its weird cause when I got hurt it was my foot and it traveled to my thigh. The thigh seemed to get better but it seems after this injection the burning has come back. I go back next week to check in with doctor.

Were you awake for the procedure? Did the doc use your feedback to pinpoint the location for the block?
I had stellate ganglion blocks done both ways. 1) Pain doc who performed them routinely. I'm fairly sure it was not a guided procedure. These were very hit or miss--some I got a few weeks relief from, some no more than a day. 2) Ex spine surgeon who treated it more like a surgical procedure than a "shot" and I usually received 2-3 weeks relief. Some people keep having them for years... All blocks are not created equal. Different meds can be tried as well. Many docs use them as a diagnostic tool--they'll be happy with a day's relief... Ha |
