Default Hemp Oil for RSD / CRPS

Curious if anyone has had any success researching or trying Hemp Oil as a treatment for your RSD/CRPS? I've read online of a few people using it in a few different ways now... a couple mix it with coconut oil and apply as a balm... others are taking it orally twice a day... and recently talked to someone who told me a friend of theirs found dramatic pain relief within a week of taking it orally.... I know this is likely a sensitive subject since it falls into the Medical Marijuana category and most people don't live in States where that is legal... kindly looking forward to any comments or info any of you have had with it or maybe "friends" of yours have had with it... feel free to post or to DM me... thank you

Lucky for you, I do live in a state that has legalized medical MJ. To answer your question...that depends on if you really mean hemp oil - or if you mean THC-infused oil...Hemp oil has very little THC in it...but the other does. My massage therapist just started using the real stuff as massage oil...and it is unbelievable! it is one of the few things that takes my pain/sensitivity on my foot completely away. AND seriously makes for the best massage ever. It doesn't make you hi per-se...but rather relaxes your muscles and provides great pain relief. Also of note, I have been testing myself regularly - and it does not show up as positive on urinalysis. Not sure if that is because it is not ingested (and thus not metabolized) or if very little gets absorbed, and the effect is more local.

If you want any more info, please send me a pm..

this is information I would greatly appreciate. I know of the affects people had smoking but this is a very common drug(though illegal in the big apple) I have heard of some doctors getting an a ok under certain circumstances. ant feed back I could use to present to the state, and to insurance, with I'm sure they would rather pay for the cheaper stuff. this is actually the first I've heard of external use or MJ oils. please any info I would appreciate as well.

Interestingly - no one I know had ever really thought about topical applications either, and I was really skeptical at first. But it really does work well - which is amazing to me....since most things don't work at all. My therapist and her husband are starting their own medical MJ business - and since I have had such great success with this, they will be making and selling various salves, massage oils etc. I am not sure if they will be able to help anyone out of state...but if you pm me your contact information, I can pass it along.

Hi - I have had RSD for 15 years, and it has mostly affected my feet. I developed a new flare in my shoulders, and can just barely use my arms (hands are OK - but you need your arms to use your hands a lot!) I can't drive, or do much beyond basic stuff - feed myself, etc. Since this is a new area for me, can't figure out how to get out of the hole I'm in - been stuck here for almost 3 months. Saw your post about hemp oil. I'm in California, and I think I want to try this. It sounds like I need to get THC-infused Hemp Oil, is that right? How can one order this? Or do I have to go to your massage therapist? I'm in the S.F. Bay Area, but, as I said, I can't drive right now. Thanks - Gigi

Can I ask what state you are in? I would like to try Hemp Oil for my RSD, but I wouldn't know where to get it. I am in California. Thanks, Gigi

I would start by googling dispensaries in your area. I use weed maps to find locations near my zip code. They deliver to my door. You will have to get a MJ card but those are easy to get. I paid for 3 years so I dont have to go back every year.
You can also type in hemp oil . Everything for me was trial n error. Whether or not I injested, smoked or tried the topical. I didnt find major pain relief in the rubs. But when asked...would you rather take Morpheine? or a small piece of chocolate for pain relief ...my choice is the chocolate.
My podiatrist gave me an rx for Ketamine lotion. They mail it to me also. It takes away the pain in my feet n knees. The cost is $65 for the pump bottle and lasts me a long time. So its worth it.

Hi - thanks for getting back to me. I found a dispensary in San Jose ("Lux"), that has edibles, topicals, and tinctures. The edibles show different concentrations, and I wouldn't know how much to ingest, and how often - did your doctor help you with figuring that out? I'm not sure if Lux requires an Rx, but you also mentioned an "MJ card", and said it was easy to get. Does one get that from one's doctor? Does that take the place of needing an Rx? I also have read up about Rick Simpson, and he sells Hemp (essential) oil, NOT Hemp Seed Oil. His essential oil has high amounts of THC as well as CBD, which is supposed to be the thing to get, not the hemp seed oil. Apparently his oil is the stuff to take internally. I'm going to ask my doc for an Rx for that, also. Yes, I want to get off the Morphine, Gabapentin, and Nortriptylene. I am also interested in the Ketamine lotion that you mentioned. My RSD doc wants me to have a Ketamine infusion, but under our (now) crummy insurance, it would cost over $6,200.00 (I like Obama, but Obamacare really messed us up financially.) You said, regarding the Ketamine lotion, "They mail it to you also". If you don't mind me asking, WHO mails it to you, and do you need an Rx for that as well? Sorry for all my questions - these alternative ideas are all brand new for me. Thanks, Gigi

Hi, I am new to this list, and I would like to get more info from you, but I don't know what a "pm" is, and how to go about doing it. Please explain. Thanks, Gigi
