MINE started denying every possible treatment then offered me a 40,000 dllr settlement.... they spent 250,000 last year alone ..yeah thats ummm an equal trade off... I have even really arrived at anything that looks like a real treatment yet....

I am afraid I am up to going through the same thing. I received a letter from my attorney for yet another IME. This time with a new dr. a physiatrist. This guy says he specializes in physical medicine & rehabilation and pain.

I see no education qualifications for pain medications and see that he does accupuncture. In the meantime, I have not seen my dr. in 6 months. (wc says they are waiting for quality review to approve) I have been seeing my pm dr. for 2 years and now it is a problem.

If you have other dr.'s that have documented your rsd then don't worry about it. That is their dr. and they will do what they want to discredit you.

I'm so sorry that you are going through the same thing. WC say's they want to get us into remission, but they won't give treatment in a timely manner (which is absolutely neccesary for CRPS sufferers)AND they keep putting us through the immense stress of trying to change our diagnoses over and over no matter how much proof they have to the contrary because it's more convenient for them in every way. All the while they know what we have...that stress makes it worse...that there are treatments out there...and they still won't do the right thing. Apparently that goes for everyone with CRPS! Sorry...I had to vent. Good Luck...and please let me know have your IME goes.

it is okay to vent. I know when I got my letter. I was ****** off. Between them saying I need to take my medical records and it is yet another doctor. I think it is bull. They should have all the records that I collected for the 1st IME dr. sent. I shouldn't have to go prancing around every where to get them.

I keep all my records.. Today I went to a hearing that i had atty set up for treatments.. . the judge allowed the proceedings to occur in my absence, and an hour earlier than I was told to be there. when i showed up my atty said that I won another hearing. but the judge almost decided with the ins. until all my papers i sent to my atty were shown to judge and the IME I just had the ins said they didn't have results to. but my atty did.. funny how ins didn't have it. but the IME dr sided with me stating a treatment plan that agrees with my dr,s. I leave nothing to chance if i can avoid it.. I keep every thing and highlight important lines. It helped me here and my last 5 hearings. but comp is a real pain in the tuchaS..

It's the old "invisible injury" factor, wc does it to anyone with any sort of hard to prove injury, probably even for injuries that can be "seen" & proved by imaging or the usual accepted tests.
Plus you have to be able to convince them that the injury was due to your job or while on the job.

I would think RSD claims are extra difficult because the documentation of symptoms & timeline has to be tied to whatever the original injury was that caused the RSD.. tough one.
