hi everyone, i have been away but am back. i have a question and hope someone can help. i live in maine, its very cold in the winters and very humid from spring to fall. we took a vacation to blue springs missouri and to mound city kansas. i had very little pain and no swelling from the time we hit missouri until today. we came back to maine yesterday. in missouri its very hot and dry, as in so dry they are in a drought bad. my qustion is do you think the less humidity may have made the crps feel better? i loved having less pain for 10 days....

Absolutely the weather can affect CRPS.
Some like it hot. Some like it cold. I like it "warm"! |

I definitely think humidity can make a difference in the pain levels. I also feel better in places where the humidity is less but the temps are still high.

I live in AZ which is VERY hot and dry. I had more trouble in the winter (60-70 degree highs) and even worse when we were in the mountains and it snowed. As things warmed up for the summer I did better. In fact, I could even handle the house warmer. The only drawback is the constant A/C blowing and the ceiling fans running. I love it on every part of my body but my feet. =)
We recently spent 1 1/2 months in Seattle. I had a harder time with the cooler weather and the dampness. |

The Dutch have known since 2006 that there are 2 variations of RSD/CRPS type 1. Warm where the affected area feels warmer than the rest of your body and for 5% cold where the affected area is colder than the rest. I suppose which ever type you are woukd determine how severely you are affected by that type of wheather.
