Normally get one or two 1 in diameter spots on the back of my non rsd hand which disappear with in a few days, this time it's spread, up the arm down the body to both thighs across front and back, then started on the RSD arm, yesterday watched it spread from elbow down to wrist in about 6 hrs

Need to know not just the name but also the ingredients and amounts because I'm sure they will never of heard of it in the UK

I do have a presciption med but find eucerin lotion more soothing.

www.eucerin.com there is a link on their site that shows ingredients....but it's quite possible you can purchase eucerin in the uk as it is not an american company.

I've used the Soothing Skin Balm and a Hand cream.

Neither one is a cure but they sure do help.

Here is a prescribed medicine that I also use.... it works really well!!!
its... Clotrimazole and Betamethasone Dipropionate Cream USP 1%/0.05%

Told him I would need a lot as it covers my whole body, 2 x 30gram tubes, used 2/3rds of a tube for 1st application. It was like rolling a red hot poker across my skin. Now got to try and get more from him tomorrow or I run out

Has your GP seen you for a face to face consultation so that he/she can assess and see the rash for him/herself? It's easy to assume that everything is caused by CRPS when it could be something else entirely. It might be something that is easily treatable or needs to be treated with something different to the prescription you've tried. I don't mean to intrude on your post and if your GP has assessed you in person then, of course, just ignore this. If it is recurring, perhaps you should be asking your GP for a referral to a dermatologist for a specialist analysis and treatment.

All he said was have you seen a dermatologist and I told him there was no point because they wouldn't know what RSD was so would have no idea if it was the RSD Rash. There is no way am going to let someone who has no idea what is wrong with me make things worse, in fact i have an advanced decison which bans anyone from giving me emergency medial treatment even in life threatening situations.

I can understand your reluctance to have to deal with yet another specialist who is unlikely to know about CRPS. I've had a great deal of personal experience of the frustration and risks of dealing with people who have never heard of the condition or, worse still, try to pretend they know about it but patently don't.

That said, there is very little about dermatology that is invasive so the risks for you in just going to see someone for an opinion are minimal. If your GP refers you properly, he or she will make the consultant aware in the referral letter that you have the condition so that they are forewarned that there is a complexity that they must be aware of.

There isn't a single CRPS rash - the condition can cause all sorts of different skin problems, rashes and lesions which is why it's really important to get yours checked out in case its actually something unreleated. Even if it is related, the dermatologist may have more ideas about topical treatments that could make your life and your skin much better. Once skin breaks down it can cause critical problems that are very hard to treat.

You can always say no if you aren't happy with any tests or treatments that are suggested but wouldn't it be better to at least have the referral and get an opinion?

Not going to see anyone anymore. Saw Professor on Wednesday who wouldn't go ahead with what I want so thats it. if this cream doesn't work I'll live with the rash until i can't take this anymore
