Default ketamine treatment this week

Doing a infusion this week with Lubenow in chicago. Trying to go off of meds to help infusion be more successful (read that in barb ingles book). Now my hand is hurting and burning beyond anything in the last year. Anyone ever done this and is it worth the flare? There seems to be such a vast differnce in protocols used with the ketamine infusion between doctors. That seems to puzzle me. I guess it that everyone is differnt and what may work for me may not work for you.

Good luck with the ketamine treatment! I don't have any insight on your question since I haven't done it myself but I will be sending good thoughts your way in the hopes that it provides you the relief you are looking for. Take care.

I've had one series of Ketamine infusions with Dr. Lubenow. I did not go off any meds and I had relief for 2 weeks. I believe the relief would have lasted longer if I had rested more. I felt so good I definitely overdid it. And Dr. Lubenow encouraged me to swim a LOT. That was another definite mistake. As soon as I overdid it, every success disappeared.

As far as going off your meds goes, I recently ran out of my lyrica. I didn't realize the mail order pharmacy couldn't automatically send refills of this because it was a class 3 drug. Wow, did I miss my Lyrica for that time period. Immense burning, pain and weakness. As soon as I figured out that I had to phone in for my refill of Lyrica and I got back on it, I returned to my "normal" level of discomfort.

Good luck with your infusions.
