Has anybody noticed that if there pain gets really high, if your eyes tear? Im not talking about crying, but your eyes actually tearing up like crying, but not crying. And it only happens when my pain is at a certian level. It drives me crazy. But again i have many additional issues besides the RSD, so it could be related to that maybe.

I only notice there is something different when my eyes are crusty and a bit sore, as a result of my eyes having some moisture. I never knew if it was because of the pain or my body temperature being very high and it being sweat build up around the crevices.

tos8, coincidentally it was happening to me today, which was not a good day for me. Two people pointed it out to me. One asked if I was crying.
And I agree, these are not "tears" from crying, but the eyes are actually watering from pain. Weird. But what about CRPS isn't weird I guess.... Last edited by birchlake; 04-02-2013 at 05:33 PM. |

I get this too. It's annoying when people ask if I am crying...but they are the eyes of someone in pain.

Yeah the tears have been pretty constant today, but my pain is very high today and my body temp is all over the place. Very intersting how the body responds to pain and what it will do. Its why i wanted to become a physical therapist because the body is so amazing and a PT can look at the body as a whole, which is even more increadiable. I loved every bit of it until i could no longer work.

I love this forum....thought this was just me
![]() When my pain is high, I get the tears thing and usually I get a certain breathlessness as well, and I have to work hard to get my breathing anywhere near normal. I think all the things we're describing are the body's responses to the extreme stress caused by terrible pain. Oh it's so unfair guys, but I am glad it's not just me....next time I will feel a tiny bit better from knowing you all understand it too. Take care of yourselves ![]() Bram. |

Yep. I'd say ditto on the tears. I also tend to have the issue catching my breath when my pain is very high. I also become horse when trying to speak. Usually when my spasticity is at its worst, I notice the symptoms noted above. I always thought that these reactions were due to the war going on between my nerves and muscles. Hope you find some relief soon.

I am sorry you are in so much pain. Yes tears come, not like crying, but just from the pain. I think it happens to alot of folks. Hope you can find some relief from you issues. RSD is awful, and it takes the right kind of specialist to get it under control. I have PN, which they origionally thought may be RSD as it happened after a surgery.
I hope you find the right combination of physician and medication to feel a bit better. ginnie ![]() |
