Question Looking for Neuro Doc in Colorado...

Any suggestions would be most welcomed! I'm trying to stay away from Univ of Colorado Hospital if possible, but would take any suggestions at all. No easy task finding a Neuro Doc in Colorado who knows something about CRPS II. I have a PM doc, but need to fill a vacancy in my team for a Neuro Doc. Thanks in advance!

I would search neurologists in Colorado online. Then type in the doctors names and then the word healthgrades to check their background history. I wish I could help more, but I live in Jersey, so I don't know of anyone in Colorado. Good luck and take care.

Hey Vrae,

I would ask your PM doctor for a referral since he would likely know the neurologists who has referred patients to him for the treatment of CRPS II. The second place to look would be with anesthesiologists with a sub-specialty in treating peripheral nerve issues.

Lastly - most Neurosurgeons also are closely linked with the top neurologists so maybe your spine doctor could give you some names?

Good luck and I'm sorry you are having a difficult time! I'm freezing here also at 26 degrees .. hot cocoa, peppermint schnapps and the hot tub is my new weapon!

Thanks Renee! I have been researching docs for weeks now, so I thought I would just throw it out to our community here. Thank you for the suggestions!

We have a local mag called 5280 (5,280 feet = a mile, we're a mile above sea level), they do an issue called 5280 top docs. I think I have a line on one from that source. I'm excited he's excepting new patients; disappointed 12/2 will be his earliest appt. Waiting to find out what he knows, if anything about CRPS. He has a laundry list of other neuro conditions that he treats, he's pedigreed, rated well, and many years of experience, which makes me hopeful.

I recently got much better health insurance (it's been years) and now I am assembling a team. Getting all of the "get to know you" appointments set, and some are reestablishing appointments. Once done with the edit I'm working on, I am going to spend more time trying to get some help, some relief. I've been regressing so much, that it's been scary at times. I'm hoping for good things!

Thanks so much for this!

I too put hot baths in my arsenal this time of year. I should consider adding the hot toddy! 26° ... Burrrrrito!

Go on Angie's list. You can find a lot of info hopefully on there. Also look up their reviews, malpractice, and if they are affiliated. Remember Im down in NM not Colorado, so I don't know any of the Drs up there.

Healthgrades also has info like whether doctor has had malpractice suits against them as well as patient reviews. Good luck and hope you have a good night.
