My lovely friend has just rung to say that near the end of the news on Channel 4 this evening, there was a segment on CRPS, with a story about a girl who had her hand trodden on, and then got CRPS. Apparently they discuss how rare it is for anyone to know about it
![]() I missed it on the main channel, but there is a Ch4+1 channel, and it will be on near the end of the programme just before the weather, so around 7.20 this evening. Watch it if you get the chance - it's very rare to see CRPS on the UK TV anywhere!!! Bram.

Thanks so much Bram!
I haven't been on here for ages (loads going on, lots of pain, blah blah). Anyway, I just popped on here a couple of minutes before 19:20. I found C4+1 in time and we watched the piece. http://www.channel4.com/news/regiona...e-paige-health |

Here is the link to the story with video on the Channel 4 site.
http://www.channel4.com/news/regiona...e-paige-health It was a good little story actually. The poor girl is clearly guarding way too much, but when you're that age, it's understandable not to want the pain we all know about to be any worse than it already is... They interviewed a specialist too, who was talking about how rare it is for patients to see a doctor who knows about CRPS (uh-huh) and how there needs to be a lot more education about the condition to raise awareness. Bram.

Bravo! She is brave, well articulated for her age and has her mind in the right space of wanting to raise awareness and trying to find some kind of silver lining. I also agree she is guarding too much and needs some OT to try and help desensitize the arm/hand a bit and perhaps legs and feet too.
Thank you for sharing this!!

WOW! She is so impressive. So poised and articulate for an 11 year old! I wanted to cry because it was like she was verbalizing everything I feel. So interesting that she remarked on how she keeps up a brave face, speaks to the thread I started recently. I guess a lot of us cope that way, by compartmentalizing the pain so that we can leave the house and have some sort of life. I prescribe this video to be watched by all of our doctors! They could learn a lot from this wonderful little girl. May god bless her with better days.

Thanks for the link Bram. It's good to know that crps is becoming more recognized. I'm so sad for the poor girl who got this horrible condition though. Thanks again for letting us know about this news. Take care.

Thanks for that video link. I was lucky to be diagnosed with CRPS on new years eve from a fall three weeks prior.I have it in my right hand and half of my left hand and it's starting to creep up my right arm.Now I'm waiting on worker's comp to take it seriously.Still learning about this condition and worried it might spread rapidly, just happy to find all you people on this site to talk to
