Hi yaaaawwwnnn....

And so now it's Addison's disease! Is that as well as RSD or instead of, or perhaps she has Munchausen's? Whichever it is I wish she'd get the facts about her latest disease right (hah! RSD coming and going!!! If only it went!!), because she obviously has no idea what a terrible disservice she's doing to those who really do have these conditions.
She definitely says (twice, I heard it) she's been diagnosed with Addison's on the YouTube mp3, but then denies it in the following article.

Here's the YouTube url to listen to the tape:

Here's a bit from the eonline article:
http://www.eonline.com/news/article/...4-a0c02555c2f8

"Abdul also discusses an assortment of issues with her health on the tape, claiming that she had recently developed Addison's disease, a rare endocrine disorder that causes chronic fatigue and muscle weakness, among other symptoms.

"I've been going through tremendous amounts of a difficult time," she says.

"I've developed this thing called Addison's disease…My adrenals are empty…and my immune system is not very good. And the worst thing about my spinal cord injury, and now Addison's, is that stress makes it hyper, hyper bad."

At an event in New York Thursday night, Abdul downplayed her health problems, telling People magazine she had not actually been diagnosed with Addison's disease.

"I haven't been diagnosed with it. I'm just exhausted. Sometimes I have really low blood sugar levels. It's all because I work very hard, that's it," she said.

"When you work as hard as I do, you become exhausted. That's what happens. I'm working on five different projects right now. And now people are saying I have Addison's. I'm tired."

I expect she's in for a rough time. I don't wish her ill, but this "I've got a terrible disease be kind to me" thing is getting very old.

Bah humbug...all the best

Thanks for this post. Allen, I tried to email the link on the news to my daughter. Hope it went through. I've been trying to educate her on RSD for almost 4 years now. I'm not giving up.
She actually came over the other day & told be I should get botox because Paula Abdul did. Imagine that! Scares me what Paula Abdul might say next.

Default Perceived value

There is a term used in marketing called "top of the mind awareness". It means that the position for any business, or anything anyone wants a person to remember is on everyones mind. But not just on their mind, in the top things on their mind.

With Paula Abudul and RSD it is just that, except there is one more value in this problem, and it is called "perceived value". It seems everyones perception is that (Paula Abudul + RSD = Negative top of the mind awarness).

That maybe so, but if you compare it to say Paris Hilton our perception of the value may change. They say Paris Hilton is now more famous from the negative then she was before the negative publicity.

I think that is the way Paula Abdul will effect the publicity of RSD. Any publicity is good publicity when it causes top of the mind awareness.

Now that RSD is out of the bag, and on top of everyones mind, it is time to use the publicity we are getting to get the word out. Hopefully the hype wont die off too quickly which would cause Rsd to fall from top of the mind awareness.

Good point. If I could just get the focus to write some letters to politicians.
