Has anyone experienced broken bone(s) due to CRPS/RSD?

Have you had a bone scan? I think with long term or severe cases eventually the bones may become porous and weak..

What I do know is that my bones are strong and show no signs of osteoporosis or poor density...but did break.

Can you provide more details?
Which bones broke? Was there any possible trauma or accident that could be related in any way? |

I had no trauma....just walking....well, it's more than complicated than that.
Surgery to that leg 8 years prior...surgery caused drop toe and nerve damage. Had a lot of pain through out the years....like everyone else here; one day the nerve pain was ![]() The bone has healed; but the CRPS is worse; foot turns blue. Edema. Was just wondering if anyone else has had a break...no pun intended. ![]() |

How recent was the break? I have been told by Ortho that bones can take up to 18 months to fully do their thing after a break. And lot of remodeling occurs after it is "healed", during which time there can still be some swelling and discomfort. That's tough in a weight-bearing bone! Lower extremities are fussy even for people without CRPS. Elevation and very light compression if you can tolerate it might help. I know the blue foot well... Hang in there, Littlepaw |
