I had problems with my titanium IM Nail. The nail was put in my tibia, and after that point the whole entire bone simply ached day-in, and day-out. My surgeon who was against removing the nails because of the location (not like plates) decided in my case it was time - 14 months post accident.
When I had it removed the deep aching in my bone did go away, but I'm still left with other problems. One reason they use titanium is because it's a metal most are able to tolerate, but there are a few who simply can't tolerate anything =( |
