That sucks you had such a bad time. Did they give you phenergan or zofran prior to the infusion? I read somewhere (on here maybe?) that people with CRPS have bad veins. Hopefully you will have a better day tomorrow!

Don't ever feel sorry about feeling like your complaining. You have every right to. I am sorry your infusion did not go as well today as it did the last time. Healing hugs and I hope you start to feel better soon.

Hi Littlepaw,

Like Nurse Kris asked, can they give you phenergan prior to or at the start of your infusion to prevent the nausea and vomiting?

I can't take pain meds without also taking Phenergan due to the nausea caused by the pain med. Phenergan is my favorite drug but it does make one drowsy.

Anything that will prevent me from nausea is my BEST friend. I am not that good at handling pain, but you might as well put me in a pine box and throw mud on top of it when it comes to nausea and vomiting.

To have BOTH, pain and nausea at the same time is pure torture. I am so sorry this infusion was so bad for you.

Glad you are feeling better now. Let's hope that you have no other problems pop up beyond what you have already endured.

Thanks everyone SO much. It is nice to get sympathy and virtual hugs.

Yeah, nausea and urping are the worst. Unless you're my cat, who seems to relish eating grass just so she can urp later....

Nursekris and Hope, I have been getting the max of Zofran at 8mg and though I have gotten nauseated every time, I have never actually gotten sick. I don't know what was different. I have been a little under the weather with allergies but I think it was largely the speed of infusion. sometimes you can inadvertently slow your IV down by shifting your arm the wrong way. I guess I was in the "full on" position. I kept wanting to ask them to back it down but just felt too loopy...

I have always had hard to access veins. Being dehydrated from the whole "nothing after midnight" thing and being small don't help. I have felt lucky they haven't had any trouble getting my IV before now.

Cool Smirk

"Thank you" for the visual of your cat urping. I had to go see what YouTube had to offer on the subject. I will not Post the Link as it is tasteless, but if you want that sort of laugh, search Cats Hairball Techno.

Dave.

Sorry Dave...

You're the greatest though because your reply brought a smile first thing in the morning. I just gotta lighten it up sometimes. I always feel bad for my kitty if I see her in process but she DOES do it purposefully so it has become a running joke in my household when she goes to her favorite patch of grass. And I have to laugh because I am the one on clean up duty so the joke is really on me.

I feel much better today...

Glad to hear you are feeling better. Had to laugh at the last line of your post. I was just thinking about the clean up when you WROTE about YOU being the one to clean it up.

Forget what your cat is going through,...... I feel bad for what YOU are going through with the clean up. Not sure which is worse, your cat having the up chuck or YOU having to clean it up.
