I am glad you are forging ahead. They will be able to keep you comfortable. I'll be thinking of you on Friday and sending healing thoughts.

I was completely knocked out for my endo and colonoscopy. Remind them that you have RSD, mark yourself, if need be, to indicate areas of pain-so they can be extra careful. I was positioned badly during these procedures and as a consequence it took me a full month to recover-the pain was so bad I had to quit Yoga and PT. If you think you there is the slightest possibility you might be cold, ask them to cover you with heated blankets.

I am still having stomach issues since these procedures. It is so bad I am existing on cream of rice cereal, bananas, mashed potatoes and Zantac. The Align the gastroenterologist told me to take has not helped in the least.
Hopefully, you will have better luck than I did.

Heart Dear RSD ME

I am so sorry you are having to go through this but I pray they find what they are looking for and can treat you for it.

I've never had one done so I can't offer any suggestions but am thankful for the family of NT'ers that have come to your aid.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers this Friday morning.

Hi,

I had a General Anaesthetic for this procedure as I panicked the first time round and actually tried to pull it out. It did mean a longer wait, but was worth it for me as I couldn't have done it any other way.

I'm sure it will all go well, you will be fine

hi all. sorry it took me so long to give an update on my endoscopy on 12/18. it took me a few days to recover from it because they took two biopsies and it was very painful where they were done. they first gave me anesthesia so i was asleep the whole time which was good. then i remember waking up and having terrible cramps and pain in my stomach. my dr said it was from the biopsies and the tube going down my throat. my throat was suprisingly not sore so that was good. the dr said my stomach and opening of my espophagus were red and inflamed by too much acid in my stomach caused by me getting too stressed out. he didn't think it was cancer and saw no ulcers or hernias. he said he took a biopsy from my stomach and esophagus just to check for any bacterial infections that may also be causing the redness and inflamation. he told me to stop the nexium and take dexilant and see him in three weeks to go over biopsies and which med works better in reducing the acid in my stomach. i am leaning towards the nexium as being the most effective in that situation. i'm a little nervous about the biopsies because i always worry about cancer, but hopefully that won't be the case when i see my dr in january. anyway, other then the pain from the biopsies, the endoscopy went smoothly and i was put to sleep so i didn't see or feel anything while the procedure was being done. i'm trying not to stress as much anymore. it's just not worth it. thank you all for thinking of me and for all of your caring messages. i hope you all have a pain free as possible day today. and for those who celebrate Christmas, i would like to say Merry Christmas. sending soft hugs to all.

RSD,

Just be aware that continually suppressing stomach acid can lead to other problems, illness and malabsorption.

Because of these issues I refused to use the acid suppressing products on a daily basis. (FYI I found it necessary to use half a package of Zantac in the last 30 days-otherwise I think I would have gone insane from the pain)

It has taken more than a month for my stomach to improve using DGL licorice and a bland diet-I was living on mashed red potato, but it was worth it because- Whoohoo I am over the worst and can now start using digestive enzymes and probiotics to improve my health.
