Wednesday, I got a call back from my GI about my scaly skin/possible side effect of omeprazole and he wanted to run a few labs. So...being the person I am, I emailed my PCP to let them know the orders were coming. Oh, and I probably have a UTI, so can we get a U/A C&S while we're at it? Oh, and can we do that at the clinic closest to me? Thanks.
PCP got the orders (and included the requested U/A C&S) and I had that all done yesterday. Thank goodness the phlebotomist read my chart & used a butterfly automatically! Last night my U/A was posted. Yup. I have a UTI. Pretty good one too. So I sent my PCP my updated pharmacy info. This morning, my bloodwork posted. A little off but most likely due to the infection. Then, I get a call from RIC. They had a cancellation, was I still interested? Considering I have now left my room 5 times in the past 6 weeks and the only alternative solution is changing PCP's and PM...okay. Well, my stupid insurance changed Dec. 1st to an Integrated Care Program so now I have to travel 2 hours into the city for an "evaluation". Then the insurance gets the evaluation and decides whether or not to approve it. Oh. Yay. Meanwhile, I have to change my endocrinology appointment to accommodate this. And my GI calls - "labs look good" and to schedule a follow up. Cool. The PCP sent a script for an antibiotic with a message to increase my fluid intake (yeah, right, I can hardly make it to the bathroom, like THAT'S gonna happen). My daughter went to pick it up. Not covered. What? Boy am I glad that bill to repeal got vetoed. <sarcasm> I sent the endocrinologist an email because they got a Vit D level (low) and I wanted to see if I could forego the appointment. This crap is all going to kill me. ![]()

Sounds like you are just having a stellar week.
![]() At least there is some forward movement here despite the 'pain in the you know what' factor. It's good your UTI is getting treated and good you know to keep working on D levels. It's extra good about the RIC cancellation. I'm sorry you have to jump through more hoops to get there but glad there is that option. This all sounds like progress, albeit with a bit of a detour and yet more phone calls. Oh joy! I hope your assessment comes quickly and goes smoothly. Feel better soon. I am sending extra hugs, ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thank goodness the pharmacist got the insurance thing straightened out & I started my antibiotics yesterday.
I have mixed feelings about the RIC thing. With the level of pain I have been in, I'm concerned about 10 hours out of the house. Then of course, there's the possibility once the eval goes to the insurance, it will get denied. I have totally lost all faith in that system given everything I went through for the LSB's and most recently, medication. That thought process is wanting to just cancel the RIC eval, change PCP's & see this local PM. 7am train, arrives at 8:30, uber to RIC, 10am PT (1 hour), 11-1 "free time",1pm OT (1 hour), uber to station, 3:45 train home, arrives at 5:30pm. That's going to be a very difficult day for the "possibility" of insurance approval. It also (except the 11-1 free time) is the schedule every Friday for 12 weeks. If there is no measure of pain medication, I don't think I will be able to participate. I can't see going through that every Friday and being functional until Wednesday each week. Keeping my fingers crossed my pain level will go down between now and then. I've been up for an hour lying in my bed putting off my morning visit to the potty palace because yesterday was so bad.
