Hopeless,
Please don't ever say you're a dummy. I knew what you meant so no worries ok! 😊 I knew how worried you were about me and although it hurts to type sometimes I just wanted you to be able to have some ease. I thank you for your much needed support and concern! You have no idea what that means to me! So thank you again! 😊 I'm gonna have some breakfast and check in as much as I can today regarding my fever temps etc. I hope you check in periodically and I hope you have a blessed great day!

Thanks again,
Jenn

I just meant there is a really BIG pond of water between us (North American continent) and a lot of time difference on the clock. You will have to forgive me. My brain doesn't always engage as my fingers tap on the keyboard. I didn't even realize what I said until I read your post. I had to laugh at the stupidity in the way I had written that in my post. Honestly, I DO know that Hawaii is one of our 50 states. (A little embarrassed, too.)

OK, now that I got that out of the way. ................

Thanks so much for writing to us. We were very concerned about you and hearing from you was great. I am very sorry to learn how much you are still suffering and that some of the post-injection matters have not resolved.

I know the conflict when one feels bad enough to need medical attention, yet, feels too bad, to GO to get the medical attention needed. I had that happen just two weeks ago personally. I woke with NEW pain on a Sunday morning. When it persisted, I called my PM doctor on Monday but he was totally booked. On Tuesday, I called my primary care doctor and I know all I had to do was ASK to be seen THAT day and it would be arranged, but I hurt too bad to even think about going in the same day as my call. I did not go in until the next day, on Wednesday, by MY choice.

I understand that you have pain and transportation issues for getting to a doctor, but I do not think your temperature rises should be ignored. I really think you need to be seen and evaluated. You may have other things going on beside your CRPS that needs attention.

We would love to hear from you and know how you are doing when you feel up to it.

Wishing you better days, and better care. Thanks again for posting.

Hi Jenn,

I am so happy that you have posted. Unless you feel an urgency regarding your temps, and as along as they don't continue to rise higher than what you have posted, .... I think tomorrow's appt. with your doc should be soon enough to address this and you can avoid a trip to the ER.

Should your temp go higher, I would treat it with aspirin or Tylenol, if you are allowed to take either of those until you see your doc. If it gets too high, I would call your doc's exchange, if they still exist, or whomever is on call.

I would have a different suggestion if you did not have an appt. tomorrow with a doc.

I don't know how much benefit there is in it, but I like to use a cool washcloth on my forehead when I have a fever. I guess I want to keep from frying any brain cells.

As to the "dummy",..... I am not always "dumb", just when I have a senior moment. Too bad those moments are coming more frequently as I age. I really don't consider myself "dumb" but there are times when I can do or say something that surely qualifies as a dumb idea. I think everyone is capable of having a dumb thought or moment at some point in time no matter how intellectual or how well educated. That's why they write all those "For Dummies" books.

As you can see, there are several of us following your thread and are concerned for you.

I am always wiped out after dragging myself to a doc appt. and I come home and take a nap. If you are up to it, please let us know how your appt. goes tomorrow. Rest first if needed, but, try to drop us a quick line when you feel able to do so.

Thanks.

Thanks for the updates! The fevers are a cause for concern because they are an indication of infection however they can also indicate inflammation typically inflammation of the joints.

Do you have someone at home that can look at injection site on your back? If you do, or if you can look at in a mirror by yourself, look for signs of infection. Check for redness, warmth, discharge or drainage these are also signs of infections.

Always check with your doctor before taking additional medications. You may find it helpful to alternate between Tylenol and ibuprofen throughout the day to help control your fever.

I know that some literature states that lumbar sympathetic blocks can be used as a diagnostic tool. However, it shouldn't be the only diagnostic tool used, at least that's what I have read.

Hopefully your PCP can give you some answers as well as some relief. Good luck and keep us posted!

Thanks Nurse Kris for all your great comments.

That is why I put the qualifier, "if allowed", when I suggested aspirin or Tylenol, but you state things so much better. I always forget about alternating since I am not allowed to take aspirin. (Already on blood thinners and daily aspirin due to heart issues.)

That was a great suggestion. Had been suggested to me on numerous occasions prior to the development of my cardiac issues.

I am always so happy when you post. And I really like the way you can state things.
