It's likely a reaction to the drug but RSD causes panic attacks too.
Get ahold of the doc ASAP (now). It may be adjustable. Consider going to the hospital emergency room but be prepared to be admitted. They can help. |

These attacks generally subside after a short time. Focus the eyes on something and breeth deeply. Exhale longer than inhaling.

Keep in mind that heart attacks don't always have chest pain. Don't mess around with this if he hasn't had panic attacks in the past.

Hi Claudia,
I have a child who suffers panic attacks--it sounds very like what you describe. At first my reaction was panic but now I get her to breath into a brown paper bag. It makes her concentrate on something other than the fear and it subsides quickly. Unfortunately panic attacks are prevalent in today's society and dealing with RSD is certainly likely to be a trigger. Deep breathing, avert the focus then a nice massage is what works for her. It is a horrible feeling of impending doom which suddenly becomes overwhelming and gets that fight and flight action going! ![]() Good luck Tayla ![]() |

I have panic attacks all the time. Its an awful feeling. I always feel so scared, can't breath and I feel like Iam going to die. My Doc told me to do deep breathing. Inhale through your nose and let it out slowly through your mouth. I do it about 10 times. It helps to calm me down. Hope this helps.
