Do you think there is such a thing as rebound pain post infusion?
Many of you in Australia have had repeated treatments ; and some of Dr.S's patients have been treated more than once as well . How has your pain/RSD returned? different than before (ie stabbing pain when before there was none) ? the same ?? more intense - with spread? I don't see this type of information in any of the post ketamine literature/abstracts/studies so I hand this over to you the experts who have experienced low dose ketamine infusions Thanks GnP PS. please describe any changes good or bad from treatment |

Hi GnP,
There is definitely a return of pain with many people following an Infusion but this does seem to vary greatly on the length of the infusion and the condition of the person pre Ketamine. I have always found it to be a gradual return to my "normal" pain but I still enjoy it for what it is. If it has been 7 days of more sleep and less pain or 7 months I have felt better for it. The return of pain was NEVER worse than it was before the infusion and I felt better equiped to cope as I had been giving some 'time out" to regroup. I realise that the situation here in Australia where Ketamine treatments are covered by medicare might make us less likely to be disappointed of a poor response--after all we can have another one. BUT when you have to pay good money from your pockets I realise that the thought of a poor response and the lack of guarantee could make the decision to go ahead and trial it a difficult one ![]() Hope this helps, am here if you need any more Info. Thanks Tayla
I have no qualms about moving forward with ketamine- none at all. In fact I am doing another mini ketamine booster and oral protocol tomorrow. The last one I did in August was GREAT!!!!!! I too am planning on going to Germany in about 9 months. I just like to be fully informed . The studies report that some cases did not respond positively but they have not been fully explained. What exactly is a "not positive result" - still having RSD - but how and how much as I mentioned in my original question. In my first mini trial with ketamine I had a very strange experience/coincidence Two days after I finished the oral protocol ( and this was only 20 mgs/day ) I spread to my feet .It was beyond bizarre. In my subsequent treatments nothing like this has occurred so I am prepared to write this off as an untimely strange coincidence. My last oral dose was 60 mgs /day and I have never felt better .Better lasted for 2 full weeks after the treatment ended with no subsequent spread. For this reason I am interested in other peoples post ketamine experiences for that one in a million chance that there could be something to it. As a MNDA antagonist it is HIGHLY impossible. It is medically/scientifically unsound. SO none of you conspiracy theorists out there get any ideas that there is something to this ![]() I am just interested in real life anecdotes ![]() Much peace and thanks Tayla GnP |
