okay.
Im at the age where your last set of teeth (molers or something...) come in and I will need to have them removed. its already been decided since i was like 10 by my dentist (small mouth, no room, etc, runs in family). is the procedure surgical and will it be likely that the rsd will spread to my mouth after it is done? i have made myself not worry about it for awhile but i think they might be starting to come in soon and now i need to start thinking about it. thanks. nikki |

Hi there
Last year I had a tooth removed I had told the dentist about RSD and the risks.. they hadn't heard of it (no suprise there) but he and the staff all read up on it by my next apointment, they called me and requested that I get my doc to perscibe atavan for me to take 1 hour before the apointment. The dentist froze my mouth realy well before the extraction and I mean well, then right after the procedure was done he froze my mouth again. It worked well for me I had no lasting problems from it. ![]() Mabie if you have a knowlegable (bout RSD) doctor you can as him/her what they sugest.. It may be that they would want to put you out for it too and do it in surgery.. in which case there are other precautions to take before and after the procedures that can help keep the sympathetic system from becoming active in that area. For surgical dentistry RSD Hope has an an article here: http://www.rsdhope.org/Showpage.asp?...1&PGCT_ID=3644 Shorter dental visits are suposto be benificial as well as the before and after shots some have had a reaction to the needles and aparently there is a topical something they can rub on your gums to numb them that helps that ootential problem.. I may be I seeem to remember that,, hmm no epineferin.. hmm off to research this more.. Sandra |

Hi there,
Please ask your PM doctor whether you could develop RSD from having teeth out. Also inform your dentists about RSD, let them know what it is etc. My doctor told me not to have any surgery that I don't need, for example cosmetic surgery. Let us know how it goes Take care and I hope that you are Ok. Love ALISON
