Never say never. I have not had RSD in the elbows but as recommended to me for my RSD try the lidocaine patches on them maybe it might work for you. The lidocaine did not work for the nerves around my heart but maybe the patch will help you with yours. Hey its worth a shot. Good luck.

Is the skin RSD sensitive, or can you wrap or pad your elbows??
During an ulnar nerve flare from TOS I had to wrap my elbows and then dr rx'd padded elbow sleeves for me. I didn't have any skin sensitivity to touch but more of a pressure and soreness and some zingers.

Thanks for your responses- I do wear the lidocaine patches all the time on them but it only serves as a little more padding- I really don/t understand what is going on physiologically when it feels like there is no padding and your touching bone?

I have had ulner nerve surgery on one side and deal with it on the other. I am wondering if ulner nerve impingement might be somethign you are dealing with.
Jo mentioned padding. I wore prescriptioned elbow pads before my left surgery and they did help. I don't know if it's something you might be able to wear or not. Also you can buy them at Wal-Mart I believe. If you get the prescriptioned ones they are paid for by most insurances and I believe them to do better. I do know what you mean, my elbows feel like I have no meat at all on them. Feel better soon. Ada |

Hi Debbie,
It's Diana here. I have terrible pain in my elbows as well. I didn't know that it was RSD. I thought I was just getting old. ![]() Hang in there Deb, I've been at this since 1989. You can survive. Lots of Love Di Gentle Hugs ![]() |
