Thumbs up Killer Chirstmas Music (to help get folks in the Holiday Spirit?)

Hey Everyone!

I thought that I would share one of my all time favorite Christmas Songs with you all. I totally LOVE The Trans-Siberian Orchestra. In fact, I have two of their CD's. If you click on that link, and look under "Christmas Eve and Other Stories" (the name of their first CD) and then click on "Christmas Eve In Sarajevo", you will hear what I will have to say is one of my most favorite songs that they do....but then, I have always been partial to "The Carol of the Bells" (I know that it starts out sounding like a totally different song, but give it a little minute ). If we weren't leaving on our trip to see my folks the day that we are, I would do everything in my power to go and see TSO in concert, but they are playing here (well..in Birmingham, LOL) the night that we leave . Probably a good thing, because I would probably get goosebumps and bawl my eyes out (that is what happens when I am around "BIG" music that really....well..."gets" me. LOL).

Out of the other songs that they have up on their site to share with us (I was so surprised that these "Samples" were the ENTIRE songs, not just snips of them! How COOL is that??), I also would suggest another of my favorites of theirs "A Mad Russian's Christmas", from the same CD. Then, off of "The Lost Christmas Eve", "Faith Noel" is their version of "The First Noel", and one that I like a lot too (I have that CD along with the first. LOL. My Mom has the middle one ). Can't pass up "Wizards In Winter" which is the one that Condor put up the link to last year (I think it was?) to the house that had the KICK BUTT Christmas Decorations that were syncronized to go in time to this song! I will try to find a link to that too (unless You still have it Stephen? If you do...PLEASE put it up? Ok?? )...as they are still floating around the Internet, even though that guy got into trouble in his neighborhood and with his city (I think?) And got told he had to shut that down and not do it anymore. But, cool thing? The Trans- Siberian Orchestra folks hear about him and saw his video, and invited him to their show...and even gave him a JOB (if I am remembering correctly), because that type of show lighting stuff is what he had done for a living!

Anyway, I just thought that since this year has been a ruff one, and that it seems that folks are kinda having a hard time getting into the Spirit of things, maybe that we could share our favorite Christmas Music? And that I would kick things off with some Rocking Trans-Siberian Orchestra playing a very cool version of The Carol of the Bells, and a few others. (I really wish that they had their "O Come All Ye Faithful/O Holy Night" (Track #2 on Christmas Eve and Other Stories), because O Holy Night is also one of my all time favorite Christmas Carols, and always has been .

LOL, actually, there are so many that they have done, that are some of my favorite Christmas Carols, that I could take all night listing them all, and raving about them! So, I guess that I won't. I will make a shameless plug, though. I found each of my two CD's at Walmart for $9.92 (or .90something). So, if you like these "samples" and/or if you have heard the Trans-Siberian Orchestra before....go and get you one of them! In my opinion, it is money well spent, because I will play them over and over and over again. I don't know...CAN you wear out CD's?? ROFL, if so, then I probably will.

So.....who's up next? Who else has got some "Killer Christmas Music" that is their Favorite? It doesn't have to be all Hard Rocky sounding, as I know that isn't everyone's cup of tea...and I for one love ALL KINDS of music!

Ok...I have blabbered on long enough. I just wanted to share, since I found out that they had these entire songs up on their web site, and I thought it was so cool that I could share them with you all! Hope you enjoy them!

Love and ((Hugs))
Jose <---who is not quite so Humbuggy now. LOL

PS: MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!

okay, we all know that on the information superhighway, i'm a six car smash-up.......however, i did try to listen to this, and got about 30 seconds of what sounds like the intro to 'bells'.....what am i doing wrong?
i wish it had worked for me.......i liked the idea of listening to some gorgeous christmas music.....like u, i love BIG music ....the mormon tabernacle choir version of 'joy to the world' gives me chills every time i hear it......unfortunately, i have no idea how to provide a link to it, or even if a link exists.
'joy to the world' will always be my favorite because it was the very first thing i learned to play when i took music lessons.....and christmas is when i most miss being a musician, because the bell sounds of a xylophone really are wonderful with c'mas music and i loved playing all the old traditional things like 'silent night' and 'hark the herald angels' and 'angels we have heard on high', another song high on my favorites list even if it was tough to learn and play - it was well worth the effort.
guess i'd better dig out my tapes!

Smile For Liz....Merry Christmas

Just for you Liz...

Chistmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 Song & Video which is on UTube. This one should work for you(PLUS you get the added bonus of seeing the for real TSO Video for this song! ). I don't have a clue why the last one didn't? I thought at first that it might be because I had played the song(s) on my computer, and maybe that it made it want to play the whole thing(s) when I clicked on the link(s)....but, then I remembered that I don't have the 2nd CD listed, nor the Bethoveen ( Spelled wrong, I know...so sorry...I am very wiped out....another day of Meghan Beauty-fying me . Glad it is the last...at least until next semester! ROFL).

So, I don't know why it would play the whole somgs for you? I used the Windows Player...maybe that makes a difference?

Anyway...I am going to head off to bed now. Let me know if this one works..Ok?

Love and ((hugs))
Ebeneezery Jose. LOL

Trans Siberian Orchestra was in Portland Dec 7th. I couldn't go, so I bought tickets for my wife and kids. They said it was the best concert they have ever been to. And we have been to alot of concerts in our time. Of course, no one can beat seeing the Beatles live in concert.

It's nice, the sort of stuff .c 1973/4 that largely followed on Led Zeppelin, thinking of bands like Yes and the Electric Light Orchestra. Sadly missing IMNO any tasts of the Incredible String Band or Pink Floyd, but I yield to the true Pinks on that one. That said, very good all the way around.

If there's something in particular I should be listening to for focus on these guys, I would appreciate the feedback.
