Some doctors will give Atarax or Vistaril for the itching.
If yours won't, you can try Zyrtec antihistamine OTC.
Zyrtec is related chemically to Atarax, and causes less sedation.
The itching from narcotics is due to the release of histamine that the narcotic causes. The synthetic ones like oxycodone may cause this worse than morphine/codeine.
