For anyone still working the best site in the world for all of the ADA accomodations & how to get them etc........go to the JAN site.

http://www.jan.wvu.edu/media/testingaccomm.html

It helped so much when I was still working at the beginning. You can call these people & they will call you back ASAP. They are so helpful.

Working was hell on earth for me.

I went through periods that weren't as bad and even got a period when I was able to get off all the drugs and recovered some of my strenght but then got hurt again and was worse than ever.

Yes I am very familiar with FMLa and still working with medical and my company doc.. right now am looking forward to working 6 12 hours nights in a row for overtime because no one else wanted it.. But trying to work what I can when I can.. We do have some down time and that definitely helps.. Thanks for all the advice.. Lisa

I was able to work 6 years after getting my original injury.
I was self employed and was under way too much stress. I did not get a diagnosis for 7 years....
If I knew that I had RSD, I would have taken a low stress type of work.

I actually had a head injury with my initial injury, so I have a problem in certain areas but not other areas. The anxiety is also a problem for me.
So depending on what kind of work you do, you maybe able to continue working....
HBOT treatment should get you in well enough shape to continue working. ( the deep hard shell dives) 20-30 dives should be enough.

I would love to be able to get people together in different parts of the Country to get discounts where most insurance doesn't pay for this anymore and 2+ people gets discounts where they need bodies!

Hi Lisa,

I have full body RSD I worked for 5 years after being diagnosed. As others have stated it depends on you. Your health comes first listen to your body it will tell you when you when you need to slow down. Rethink how you use your time you may need to adjust how you do things off the clock so you have the energy to work. Check with HR and see what your benefits are for short and long term disability.

When I was working I would come home in a great deal of pain. I couldn't sleep at night it was so bad. I started seeing a pain management psychologist who taught me some relaxing techniques. If you don't have a psychologist ask your doctor for a referral. The relaxing techniques helped. He also helps with the paperwork for my long term disability. The most important thing is he understands RSD and all the emotional concerns I have when dealing with doctors who don't understand the condition.

Take care of yourself,
Sbowling
