I remember that Paul Abdul has RSD/CRPS and looked online for her story. Apparently she was on all the medicine that they have my boyfriend on. WHat finally broke her chronic pain was Enbrel, a drug used for arthrirtis and psorisis?

What are the thoughts on this? I would like to research more.

Makes you wonder if her DX was right to begin with? I asked my PM doctor about arthritis medication and he said it wouldn't help me. Keep in mind different treatments work for different people. Have your boyfriend talk with his doctor about enbrel.

I did a little research on Enbrel & the side effects where scary to me. But I agree with the other post. I wonder if her DX was correct & she doesnt have something besides RSD. I wish she did. I hate thinking she has RSD and does nothing to help spread the word about it. I hope your boyfriends doctor is a good one & up to date & be your best source of information though. Have a good day & wish your boyfriend a low pain one.

If I recall, Paula retracted her statement. It seems I had a magazine article about it, but misplaced (means threw out) it. I don't think that I was sure about her DX either. But, as the others said, "Check it out". It may certainly be worth it for your hubby. We are all different. Research the side effects and get the advice of your hubby's treating physican. I don't know if the dx of RSD fizzled out since then or if the meds helped her.

but she did have many injuries from cheer leading, car accidents, plane crash ...

I wonder why she never talks about it regardless of what the dx is?I am sure it could help someone even if not rsd suffers. Anyhow I have not heard of this med or others being on it. Maybe do a search on the search button on the boards to see if anything comes up here. It may not be someone with rsd but still could give you some view and possible things to ask the doctor. That has always helped me when I hear of others taking a med or doing a treament. It helps bring up questions to doctors that I see or if it could possibly helps and my concerns.

I never paid too much attention to Paula and her pain, I used to think she was always drugged up, but now that RSD is being more talked about, something just clicked lst night and I found 2 articles on it.

I am on Humera for my Rheumatoid Arthritis. The potential side effects are very similar to Enbrel, and you are correct - very scary. Since these drugs are supposed to work much like each other, one might think they would both help RSD.

Well, I don't see any RSD improvement since starting the Humera last summer. But, as always, remember that each person reacts differently.
