Default The High Risk of HBO

Hi Folks,

While we absolutely DO need oxygen, the downside is it increases "free radicals"...oxygen looking around for something to lock onto.

Can you clarify the conclusion of these studies? I mean what is the negative effects on people who has the treatment.
Thanks,

Hi Their,

Let say rabbits are free radicals, and cells are bushes ok.

That rabbit is looking for a bush to hang out in.

This is why extra oxygen (HBO) can be very dangerious.

Hugs, Roz

Here's a reference for that I think is easy to understand and worth reading:http://www.vet.utk.edu/vhms/pdf/Free...xygenSpecies.p

Here's some of the article:
3
II. Reactive Oxygen Species
A. Individual species
1. Superoxide anion
a. • O2
-
2. Hydroxyl radical
a. • OH
3. Hydrogen peroxide
a. H2O2
4. Nitric oxide
a. • NO
5. Hypochlorite ion
a. OCl-
6. Ozone
a. O3
7. Thiyl radicals
a. RS •
8. Carbon centered radicals
a. • O2CCl3
III. HBOT and ROS’s
A. ROS affects depend on;
1. balance with anti-oxidant production
2. physical condition of the patient
3. concentration, frequency and duration of hyperbaric
oxygen exposure.
B. Exposure limits
1. 2.5 ATA and less no significant increase in ROS
production.
2. Frequency and duration of treatment that might
significantly increase ROS production in horses is not
known.
a. The limits of accumulative or acute exposure to
hyperbaric oxygen have not be established.
C. HBOT and benefits of ROS production
1. Enhancement of antimicrobial effects of cellular immunity
especially in hypoxic environments.
2. Some evidence exists that indicating that HBOT may
actually decrease lipid peroxidation in cell membranes.

We are not talkin about EXTRA oxygen. We are talking about safe amounts, duration and depth.
It is all relative, diet can kill you, stress can kill you, meds can kill . Sometimes the gains out weigh the risks. SO many things have side effects and risks that we use and do each day. They all become quality of life choices at some point.
Lets just agree to disagree now that we have put the information out for others to make their own choices, OK?

Dear Diana,

A blood clot to the brain is a high risk to take in my opinion. HBO can be very dangerious. With RSD we have a purple and reddish color limb. Please speak with a Pulmonary MD it is their field. It causes free radicals as well.

At ground level you are breathing in 21% oxygen. so I have no clue why you mentioned no extra with HBO, please check this out.

Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBO) Therapy
HBO therapy is a medical treatment that uses the administration of 100 percent oxygen at controlled pressure (greater than sea level) for a prescribed amount of time—usually 60 to 90 minutes. HBO therapy is commonly used to treat conditions such as burns and difficult healing wounds. HBO therapy facilitates healing in these conditions by increasing the amount of oxygen in the blood by up to 2000 percent, depending on the treatment depth. This in turn dramatically increases the amount of oxygen at the cellular level.

Roz, I am fully aware of the content of oxygen in the air we breathe. I am a diver.
As A matter of fact. I think this is the perfect oportunity for me to share this great story with everyone!
I got a call from the manufacturer who sold me my HBO Chamber, asking me if I would considering doing a favor for him. I said sure if you'll do one for me. He said "you go first". I did. I ask him if he would make a personal call to a NT friend that had a young family member that had RSD and give her some council. He said "of course". So I ask what I could do for him. He told me that he had been contacted by one of our very prominate Pulmonary MD's, that had a mother-in-law who had Alzheimers for nine years and was failiing rapidly. Would I consider HBO treatments with them? She is a mother of nine children, Engineers, doctors, nurse, teacher and 2 sheriff's locally. She did not recognize any of them. I told him to have the Doctor call me. He is a Pulmonary MD at our newest hospital. When the Doctor called me, and I met with the family I had to say yes.
Every day was like the movie "50 first dates". After the 32nd dive, she walked out to the car and looked at the lady sitting in the car to pick her up (a Nurse, her daughter) and said for the first time in NINE years "That's my daughter". The tears flowed from everyone including me!
The next day after a dive, she looked at my guitar and said "I used to play that". I handed her my guitar and she played chords and sang "Crazy by Patsy Cline". We all cried again! And I can tell you ROZ, that she continues to make progress. We are all grateful! Her care taker said, she pulled out rollers and said "I use to roll my hair, let me show you how". She now dresses herself and is more interactive and communicates more now that ever. There is so much of this amazing story, that I would love to share with everyone, but time and space limit me.
Long story short, the doctor will be setting up an HBO clinic here. The family is very thankful for my efforts. They are coming to see me tomorrow to bring her to visit me. Her husband was in the hospital when she was having the dives and he wants to come thank me personally. She will get more dives and she will improv !
Thanks for the opportunity to share this story. I really had wanted to share this personal journey with this group but wasn't sure how to approach it.
I can also have the pulmonary doctor and his family write of these experience and how he think that HBO has mended a very broken family. But, I think I'll leave this thread for the last time on this note. Sincerely,
Diana

Dear Diana,

I had to go to go to a Pulmonary MD after my HBO treatment, he explained quit a bit to me. HBO is and can with some people be very dangerious, and life threating. Not to mention I had to have a sprial CT scan afterwards etc..

I have never seen anyone with Alzheimer's have a purple limb. RSD is not Alzheimer's, at least I wasn't DX with that. I really don't think HBO would help Alzheimer's by itself. She must be on another treatment as well.

I would like to know the Pulmonary MD that is recommending such a thing, because he is at high risk for looseing his license.

Of COURSE!
We need to be checked out before such a thing!
No good institute would consider the service w/o it!

So to ya'll newbies,
I'm a newbie too.

I have never been in HBOT.
HOWEVER,
I have been certified for open water diving, AFTER I got RSD.
Who recomended this?
My lawyer/ doctor approved, DR SHWARTSWMAN! PHILA, PA!

I asked my doctor first, of course.
and took the course's of course of course!

I'll tell you this, and I'm repeating myself, sadly.
(I do not understand why some are so dead set against something, that is such a benefit), it's like well, here ya go, take Seroquel! ) Aghh!

F/that!
How 'bout some O2?
I've got some RSD friends who are cursing Seroquel, and what it, (and other drugs) did to their lives!
We're talking Oxygen here.
Think that can hurt?
OK.
Study it, and Make Your Own Decision!
Don't be Frightened!

I took my young children to the FLA KEYS, oh, say almost 15 years ago.
My daughter was too young to be certified, but, she was an "instant fish". with her mask and snorkle!
My son and I got certified, sadly, while my father, passed, with Altzheimer's.
I couldn't tell them, until my son passed his dive course.
WE're both now certified.

All that behind,
I thought,
Oh, Hells bells.
I'm not gonna be able to get outta bed tomorow! With all the tank lifting, and swimming with fins, and helping my kids....... blah blah blah.....
I woke up before the alarm!
And, I was READY TO GO!
THIS, IS THE MAGIC THAT DEEP OXYGEN CONCENTRATION makes , to our bodies.

If you're afraid, don't you DARE take any medication!
Because I'm talkin bout one of God's good resources!
O2!

If all I was capable of doing, if I lost everything to this divorce that you all know I"m in,
I'd buy/rent me a trailer, in the FLA KEYS and go out every day or two, try to get a job, filling tanks, whatever, just so I could go sit on the bottom, and BREATHE MY AIR!
HAVE IT PERMEATE MY MUSCLES!

If you haven't done it, DO NOT ***** ABOUT IT!

THat's all I got to say!
SWaller yer pills.
Did you ever have RSD?

Probably not.

However, if you're intimate with this monster,
depth O2 permiation is the BEST thing you can do!
NATURALLY!

BEAT THAT!?
I dare ya!

With all good love, and Peace,
Pete
ASB

Oh, I've dived the Keys, Jamaica, Antigua, Montsersott, and some I forgot!
Hah!
Give it a try, then, get the HBOT treatments!
You'll NEVER Look back.

(Oh, did you forget, EVERY treatment / PILL may have a down side?)

It's YOUR life, Don't forget to live it!

xo
