thank you for your input and after reading everyones reply i do agree there are no stages.. my foot and leg changes all the time.. they want me to do that scs and every visit that is all that they push. it really makes me mad, i feel so firm in that i do not want the scs unit and they should do everything else for me instead of telling me that my only hope is the scs...

You do not have to resign yourself to the fact that the only thing left for you is the SCS. Who says it is? Until you have searched fully for other options, to your own satisfaction, I wouldn't go for the SCS. Don't let anyone push you into something that you really don't (yet) want. Don't do anything unless it is fully your choice. But I doubt you will convince them otherwise. That's why you have to become really proactive and search out other options, opinions, doctors.

Are there any other doctors you can go see for second, third opinions, ... ?

It is *your* body.

Never forget that. You have to live with whatever consequences. Not anyone else. That is why you have to stand behind every choice *you* make.

And,
all that's said here is great, I'd like to add.

Since all have agreed that rsd is always "changing"....
what possible stage(s) could you be in at any one moment.
Particularly when a doctor see's you, and declares it so?

It is what it is..

I couldn't agree more Michelle's. I've been to my new Pain Management Doctor about 3 times, and he pushes the SCS like he is getting kickbacks from the company. The very first visit i told him i didn't want an SCS, and i was very adamant about it. He hasn't listened very well because he pushes it no matter what i say.

Michelle,

When a doctor,
starts "pushing" you down a route that you're uncomfortable with, you have to start asking the tough questions.
Why is he pushing the SCS?
Who's his sponsor?
Ask him straight out?
Or, look up the the "medtronics" or whoever makes the pump, page, and see what doctors they recommend. Is yours listed?
If so, he's getting paid to "Push the Pump". (I took a leap there, but, did you follow?)

This "MONSTER" of a disease, is now prime Time, for the Money Outlaws!

The ones that will Prey on your Pain!

Don't let them.

Find a doctor, ,who will treat you conservatively, and with your agreement, and understanding!
NOT force you into "signing the paper"! For some really next century test dumby type treatment!
I've been there, we've all been the test dumby to some extent, with this disease!
Since 1983, I'm ANGRY!

This is why I love Chiropractors. (They'll sell you some massage gel)..
Whoo waa!

Alexander Technique massuese's

And Neurologist's who will give you, and work with you, until you get the proper and correct cocktail, and keep "tweaking" it, one med at a time, until it's right FOR YOU!

NOT some rush in and cut, nutster!
No WAY!

Fact is, they DO get "kickbacks", in the form of a commision, from the company. He sells, (He's a salesman now, not a doctor), and get's say oh, 20% of a 10,000.00 device.) Plus, Installation, service and all the adjuncts!
Makes me, as a Master Plumber, feel like a real Wx, if I were to take $ for selling a certain boiler, or water heater. (Which, I NEVER did).
Plumbers have Morals.
Doctors and Lawyers, don't, necessarily!
No laws!
