Today's Update:
"Claire had a clinic appointment this past Thursday and it went very well. I have two praises: Claire has gained 1/2lb. and she is walking on her own without any assistance. She is feeling so good too! We are so grateful to the Lord for the healing in her life. She is definitely strong enough for course III of antibody. However, her pupils are still dilated, which is a side effect of the treatment. Ideally, her pupils would be back to normal before the next course. After speaking to the oncologist, we don't want to wait much longer. He is contacting the research group to get permission to do the next course. The study prevents us from moving forward as it is with her pupils like they are. Her pupils "should" clear up eventually, but this is not a 100% guarantee. Only one other patient has experienced this and his have cleared up completely. Medically, there is no reason to believe they won't. So this is a prayer request that her pupils will clear on their own with no permanent damage. She could go back in as soon as next week (7/18/11) for the treatment. We will be there at least a week. I will update as soon as I know. Thank you for your prayers!"

Latest Update:
"I talked to Claire's oncologist on Thursday and it looks like she will not be getting the next Course on 7/18. He had not received the approval. To tell you the truth, I think he forgot to look into it. So, Claire will go back on Accutane for two weeks as planned which means it will be at least two to three weeks before she can get the antibodies. He said he is going to submit the request during this time. In the meantime, please continue to pray for her eyes. Also, please pray that her central line will stay bacteria free. Thank you all for your prayers!!"

Today's Update:
"We have set a date for Claire's next treatment, August 8 - 12/13. She is getting stronger everyday and FULL of energy. She is completely walking unassisted, however her gate is not quite right. She will go to physical therapy (finally approved) Monday to work on correcting this. She will continue to go to therapy until she's running! I need to stop and praise my God for all that He has done. We have listened to His gentle voice and He has been faithful to lead us into truth. Not only is Claire strong and back to her spirited self, so are we. Even though I was ready to move on and get this over with, it has been best that we take a break. The boys are refreshed and so is our marriage. It's times like these that I am grateful to be led by a sovereign, wise, and loving Father who accomplishes His will and not mine. Some of you have asked me about Disney and we have decided not to go in September. Lord willing, treatment will not be over until October if all goes as "planned". We will shoot for Spring break in April. Claire is still recovering from some side effects of chemotherapy. The most inconvenient is her sensitivity to heat and cold. We hope that by April she will be past this."

I'm praying that this will be one of the last entries I make regarding Claire's hospital stays. I know this is just routine for the final treatments but I will be so glad when she doesn't have to go to the hospital any longer. This update is from her Mom:
"Claire is ready for admission on Monday. Her counts look great and she gained weight! She was 21.8lbs. at her lowest and yesterday at clinic she was 23.9lbs. Her eyes have also slightly improved. We will be at Egleston at least until Saturday, possibly Sunday. Due to all of the complications she has experienced, she will be getting half the dose of antibodies at double the rate of time. In one sense, this is a good thing for her safety. In another sense, I would like for her to get the full dose of antibodies at the prescribed rate. Half the antibodies is better than no antibodies is how I will look at this and I will trust the Great Physician. Please pray for us as we will be giving Claire injections at home Saturday, Sunday and Monday before treatment. She will also get the injections when we get home for few days after. Thank you those who signed up for meals. It is a blessing to us and we are sincerely grateful."

Little Claire continues to be in my prayers, as are you and the entire family. I pray that God will soon complete Claire's healing and you will all witness a complete recovery. God does still perform miracles!

Thank you for asking, Sox. She has one more antibody treatment to get through and then (I think) she will be finished. I'm not too sure if there are meds she will have to be on now but she is doing great and is nearly back to normal. Her hair has grown back in and she has an adorable little hairstyle now. I'll see if I can find a pic of her with her new "do"!

I have felt so blessed to follow Claire's journey. I have learned so much about faith from her mother's writings. I know that, as a mother, you would never choose to go through something like this with your child, but the experience has definitely shown her mother to be a voice for the Lord's word.
