Heart Give Thanks for....

Since this is Thanksgiving week here in the USA...I thought it'd be interesting to see what others are thankful for. There's the common things like good health, family, friends, church family, knowing God...just to name a few. When the microphone reached my area during the potluck dinner at church tonite....I mentioned that I'm thankful for the things which God has created. While birdwatching and hiking, I often come across the tiniest of insects and the largest of birds all on the same day. There's something about nature that to me, just brings this closeness to God and the wonders of his creation. Here's hoping that everyone of us is truly truly blessed with a wonderful holiday with MUCH to be thankful for each and every day.

Default I am truely thankful for many here.

I am very thankful that God led me here to these forums.
I was suffering terribly, on an endless merry-go-round of doctors,
non could or would help me.
So fatigued I could hardly swallow, bedridden over half year,
I'd asked God to "heal me or kill me"....
I really have been to h3LL and back with all I've been thru physically....
Was just recovering from bowel surgery for Crohns AND nearly 3 years of severe anemia due to an intestinal AVM, basically anuerism.

I was never given B12 wich is standard protocol after any bowel surgery.
I had 2 bowel resections, lost over 3 feet of small intestines, only place where B12 is absorbed.
Was even thought I may have MS or worse...
Horrible fatigue, Peripheral Neruopathy, muscle weakness/twitching, loss of balance, burning lips and mouth were just a few symptoms I suffered daily.

I needed assistance just to shower or brush my teeth and hair.
My life was a mess and I really wanted this nightmare to be done with.

I no longer feared death. I feared life!...to continue as it had.
I truely was suffering greatly, no one can ever understand this unless they've been thru what I have.
Rose helped guide and informed me about B12.
I took her advice despite my naysaying doctors...
within a few weeks my health began to improve and I began living again.

I would have died had I not found Brain Talk back in August 2004.
Neuro talk has also been a lifeline for me as well.

Thank God for those who've been so helpful to me and many others who've suffered
so much from this very important vitamin.
But deficiency in this, causes so much to go wrong in a vast array of ways.

May God bless those who help many others here on these forums.
They too had to suffer in order to know and understand then advise others.
I pray that God will heal and richly bless them as he has me.
Blessings to all who suffer...
But beacuse they have, are able to help others.
Life on planet earth here, is just so unfair.
I have hope, this is NOT my home.
There IS a better day to dawn, soon...that is our only hope!
Blessings, cheryl

My Thanksgiving list always grows the more I reflect on what I have to be thankful for

I know the Top of my List is always being thankful that I belong to God, and that He rescued me out of the prodigal mire that my life was in 25 years ago

I am thankful for my family and especially my two sons, as I did not think I would ever be mom and so that truly was a miraculous blessing in my life

I am thankful for true friends

I am thankful that I can be thankful and that God answered my prayer many years ago to help me face life's hard times by becoming better thru them and not bitter. That really changed me, and for that I will be forever thankful

adding a PS to my top of the Thanksgiving list:

I am so thankful for cats.

I was scared of cats as a child, but then rescued an abandoned newborn black kitten in London 30 years ago, named him Nelson and that was the start of my love of cats.
I have had 8 cats over the years, currently blessed with mama Snowball (15yo, and her 6 mth younger daughter, Gravy and of course our newest (and again rescued) family members, Twilight and MoonShadow, now yearlings

We nearly lost Shadow (Vet ER didnt think he would make it thru the night!) just after we first got him .........and now, with love and a very special diet, his neurological problems are so mild as to be hardly noticeable and having him gluten/casein free has saved his life! So I thank God again here for blessing us to find a good vet, and the right food when sifting thru what was available online after the petfood scandal made us realize the food was hurting him too.

We have a gorgeous day here in Florida, high 70s and light breeze under clear sunny skies, and I am looking out my office window as I type, and seeing Twilight and Shadow romping on the grass by the stream just filled my heart with sooooooooooo much Thanksgiving!

Wow, you gals are the greatest. Just reading others comments and testimony has brightened my day. Yes, I too am thankful for my upbringing as a pastor's kid (yes you've got it..the horrible acting PK) and knowing the importants of having faith, of prayer, of believing in God. When pain hits us with any illness or condition..it becomes ever so difficult to continue to pray day after day after day..for a doctor or some med. that will ease the pain. It seems like after a long period of time, we simply mutter the words and often wonder "Is God really hearing how I'm feeling about this??" Keeping friends and keeping our faith pulls us through the deepest of times.
I'm thankful for so much when it comes to my faith and friends, as Chemar said, the list just goes on and on
Even thought hubby will be working 4-midnite on Thursday..we're able to still celebrate our Thanksgiving feast on Saturday with both sons and their girlfriends being home.

Huggarooos,
Marilyn

I'll be spending Thanksgiving missing my family, my friends, and my appetite. My sister stopped visiting at this time because it was too painful for her in this house without our parents. I felt the same way, so we started celebrating Thanksgiving with some close friends of ours out here - our kids grew up together. However, my last memory is spending the holiday with them and our son just before he went to boot camp three years ago.

I won't be able to enjoy a Thanksgiving meal again until our son comes home.

I don't mean to be such a downer about this, but the emphasis for this holiday is food, family and friends - hard not to think of them first at this time.

However, I AM thankful we had the opportunity to take a trip to OK and meet a very close internet friend of mine. It's always such a treat to meet people who have proven themselves to be true friends over the internet. It felt good to be there for her when she needed me most. It felt good to see my husband welcomed by her friends with open arms. It was nice to see him at ease, instead of on guard.

The trip was exhausting, but now I won't have to complain about being cooped up until spring. It will probably take me that long to recover.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

Kathy, please please don't feel that you did anything wrong with your post. I too am praying for all servicemen that are away from their families this holiday time of year. It HAS to feel like there's no use having a meal where we're being thankful for things when our own families are involved in battles of war overseas. I too am thankful for internet friends, you're all wonderful!!

We have memories of our parents. Of holidays when they were still living. I won't be with any of our families, other than our own sons. All the siblings of mine and my husband are all out of state.

Glad your husband felt welcome and comfy with the internet friends. I have had some real bummer trips and visits with internet friends..a couple of which ALMOST cost me my marriage when I continued to try and be friends with them. I dropped them as friends yrs ago and haven't been happier with my husband since.

There are a number of things I have to be thankful for a this time.

One thing is God, for His caring taking for all the dear ones of my life. I am thankful for my wonderful husband I have had around for 35 years. We have had good times and sad times, but mainly good ones. I am thankful for my kids and grandkids. Sometimes I get upset with my kids but it happens very seldom. Gandkids are my reward for going through the raising of my kids. I am thankful for such a good group of members here, for they have help me a lot with problems in many ways.

May you all have a Happy Thankgiving. My prayers are with you all.

Darlene
