Oh Marilyn,

I got your email late last night.

There are other options and I think that a second opinion from an oncologist is a smart idea.

Extra Hugs and prayers coming yor way.

another opinion seems to be the smart thing to do. a whole lot of prayers ... patients .. strength and healing to you and son and all of family. times like these pulls family closer . know we are holding you all in our prayers and thoughts.

(((((( corky )))))

Heart

Keith's girlfriend that he's been living with for the past year went onto the Lance Armstrong Foundation website and ordered a t-shirt for Keith that says LIVESTRONG on the front of it. The theme of that website is basically, we don't survive and LIVE after battling cancer, we LIVE STRONG !!!
She also got the wristbands for all of the family to wear, remembering to constantly pray for Keith and his battle with this testicular cancer. Hopefully by the first of the week we'll have the appt. with an oncologist and go from there. They were here last nite and we laughed and played Yahtzee for a while, got all our minds off of those horrible "what if's".

Love, hugs, and prayers to all of ya...don't know what I'd do without your support right now,

Marilyn

Hi Marilyn~~ I'm so sorry your son is going through all this. It's such a hard thing for the whole family. I am keeping you all in my prayers.

You take care of yourself too.

*my DS has been very ill all of his life, with one thing or another. so I really do know how hard this is for you* He had a hydrocele removed from a testicle last yr. It turned out ok, but we were very scared. Please take care.....(your son sounds like a strong young man)

Default It touched my heart

I went to the Ladies weekly Bible study tonight at the American Legion. The director does here on Thursdays, another suburb on Tuesdays. Every month she passes out a monthly newsletter with household hints, recipes, and prayer list.
There are about 50 ladies at our group, I'm not sure how many at the Tuesday group.
Anyways...at the top of the prayer list was my son's name and what all's going on with him. It really touched my heart to know that there's maybe 100 Christian ladies that don't even know the guy (well perhaps a couple of them do that I've known thru the kids classmates), that are praying for his healing!!!
It's like we're creating a "prayer tunnel" for Keith, and it's such a blessed feeling.
I myself need prayers for a bit of calmness. I've been getting angry over the delay in oncologist appointment, etc. When I raise my voice on phone at son, he says "wow mom, this is upsetting you more than it is me". I need to stay calm and let him start the talks of the cancer and such.

I'll keep ya posted..meanwhile, just keep prayin'

Sounds like you've raised an amazing young man, Marilyn.

Still keeping your DS and you in my prayers.

Default Got the pathology report

Well, another step along this path..son Keith got his copy of the pathology report. It shows basically the same thing as what the urologist told him at the follow-up appt.
It is an Embryonal Germ Cell Nonseminoma Germ Cell Tumor. A lengthy name I know!!!
If you read any website about this...it basically says that first they remove the entire testicle, then some of the lower abdominal lymph nodes, so perhaps the urologist wasn't too off base with his suggestion after all...was just that his bedside manners ain't the greatest!!! LOL
He sees the oncologist nxt wk..we'll go from there, it might turn out that he DOES end up having some surgery in March.
I seem to have to much time to think in the evenings while hubby's at work. I keep thinking of all the what if's and getting myself down..guess that's why I'm typing a comment on here tonite!!! Just needing to type and vent a bit. LOL

God bless all of you, and I thank God every nite for such wonderful friends. There's the 1 outta 100 that say things that they shouldn't say..but I came across that ONE at my local Bible study last week. Her comment upset me more than comforted me!!!

Hugs to all,
Marilyn

Default oh Corky

Of course I will pray for your son - I'm not really religious, but the power of prayer is mighty. And I am so very sorry that your son and you and your family are going through this, it is so very hard to see a loved one ill and suffering. Nature is cruel and life is unfair.
Hope and strength and fortitude - you have admirably, and your son is very brave. I add my hopes to yours. I'm sure we all think of Lance Armstrong as the proof that all can be well again. And you are doing all the right things.
So wise to see more than one doctor.

All the very best wishes, dear Corky,
and hugs,
from birte (BEMM)

ps My son and his wife have a little 5 year old adopted daughter whom I love to pieces. My son's wife can not have children, and believe me, grandchildren need not be 'home made' to be your heart's delight. Only your son's recovery matters.

corky . you just keep putting your chin up and smile as often as you can. Nice to catch you in the chats the other night .
you have a great crew of people praying and I know things will all work out for the best . It is hard going threw the waiting and facing the world and the many kinds of people and situations . remeber to come here and remeber to take care of yourself with good diet ,rest , exercise and some laughter now and then. even if it is at the insensitive folk who foolishly say the things they do. ha to ha ha haaa. Healing peace and blessings from God above for your son ,family and for you Marilyn.
Low pain wishes on T.N.
