Heart Rae

Rae, I am so sorry that you are in pain and have to have a revision! I know all about that and lead migration...it is frustrating and not fun I just wanted to say that I hope you still have a good Christmas and get to enjoy this time with your family! Thank you for all your support and encouragement since I have been on this board and getting me through the rough times! I hope that they will be able to fix you up very soon and that your revision goes well. I actually felt much better after the second revision well, till I fell but oh well. I am sure this Christmas is very special for you since you have your grandson and that is so great I am having a BAD pain day myself today and was sad because I didn't get to be with my family but then I got puppy pics and that cheered me up some We are also waiting on my cousin to have her baby and she is due Dec 31 so that is pretty exciting since she will be my grandma's first great grandchild. Hope you are keeping warm and taking care of yourself You are in my thoughts any prayers! Take care and Merry ChristmasTara

Crazy One week from today!

Well, exactly one week from now I will be getting my revision done to correct my migrated lead!

I have determined NOT to be uptight about this and I will put on my brave hat and be a good sport about this!

Dr said he's going to pull out the migrated lead and put in a whole new one.
How precious.

I went out and bought a brand new REACHER/GRABBER!
My twins broke my other one. I must admit it IS a fun 'toy'.....but THIS time NOBODY is allowed to touch it except MOM!

......one of my sons asked me the brilliant question....."But Mom, what will you do if you drop your reacher/grabber?....What will you use to pick IT up??"

So, maybe it would be wise to have aNUTHER reacher/grabber to use to pick up the OTHER reacher/grabber?!

Dear Lady, here is hoping that things go very, very well. mayhaps a bungee cord to your wrist to keeping your reacher within reach?? please remember we all care deeply for you and tc of you

Smile 6 Days from now?

Wow Rae, it is almost here!!!!! May you be restored to FULL relief and your surgeon provide super care in tying down the new one so as to stem migration. Oh,......... AND, here's hoping you avoid those hay bales afterwards. Turn the twins loose on the hay since they are going to be leaving your double reachers alone! Yeah!

In all seriousness Rae, I am praying that this is a fully restorative procedure that gets you where you need to be for you, for your family, and for your new grandson. You will have to give me training on the care and handling of grandchildren as we approach August, since that comes with our first grandchild courtesy of our Army son and his wife.

Well, I will continue your countdown to relief!

Prayin,
Mark BIGZ

Tongue Still feel very tired and loopy!!

The 'last' thing I remember was being told to 'roll over' (on to the table) and they said they were going to use more sedation this time and I mumbled how wonderful I thought that was.......

Here it is FRIDAY night and I just can't seem to get enough SLLEEEP!
I've been sleeping approx 16 hours (if not more) a day!!

My husband claims this is partly to do with the fact that I ran around for over a week trying to cram 36 hours in to a 24 hour day! I was on overload clear up to the MINUTE of leaving for surgery because I thought I'd be recouping for 6 or 8 weeks with a lot of post op restrictions.
Ended up NOT BEING THE CASE!

Dr and I decided at the VERY last minute that I seem to be doing so well with just ONE lead so we wouldn't replace the migrated lead! He said he could just make a small incision at the top of the battery site and unhook the migrated lead, pull it out, and 'zip' me back up! WOW and that's exactly what he did! I am in virtually no pain whatsoever, except from the incision.... But he didn't have to cut thru muscle or anything. Just a few layers of skin and walla! The migrated lead pulled right out (he was using fluoroscopy) and he put a 'plug' on it and that was IT!!

We both are amazed that I have been getting by so well on one lead for almost a year. It covers BOTH legs AND lower back! Amazing!
This is why it wasn't discovered for so long...that one of the leads had migrated....because I used the program that ran off only the one (good) lead and left well enough alone. The only reason it was discovered that the other lead had migrated was because I asked if I could get a lumbar xray to see why I was getting such severe lower back spasms. VERY VERY painful.
Well, it was because of the lead that had slipped down about 6 inches and had 3 kinks in it and literally felt like a chainsaw on the inside of my back.

When he said it could be this easy, I just couldn't believe it! And if for whatever reason...down the road, if I want or need another lead installed, we could do that. But since it just didn't seem necessary, I sure as heck could do without having to start all over again with all those post op restrictions! Now I don't have ANY restrictions whatsoever! Just take care of the small incision where the battery is (the same way we will have to do when we get our battery's changed out). That's IT!

The one lead I have is scarred in very well and works incredibly.

I have a follow up this Wednesday. If anyone has any good questions I should ask my doctor, PLEASE let me know!! Like I said, I can't seem to think straight. I'm just plain exhausted!

Thank you for all the prayers and encouragement. You have no idea how much it meant to me all the wonderful things you said!

It's so good to be back!
I do, however, still feel pretty tired and strung out.....
I just want to curl up and ......

Heart Rae good to hear from you

Great to hear from you Rae and it sounds like it wall went swimmingly...Im so pleased for you too

Amazing that one lead does both legsand your virtually pain free. Delighted for you. Im sure you were like a headless chicken running around for those weeks before the operation trying to sort everything out, yep that would be me too....as NO ONE could do anything as good as me...well thats what I think

Cant think off hand any questions that you could ask. I take it you cant shower for a few week? or would that be ok if they didnt actually open the battery incision?

Make sure you get plenty zzzzzzzzz's because you will definitely need to catch up on all that energy you used up before the operation.

And Nana needs to be as fit as a fiddle for her beautiful Grandson Aidyn Im sure he is getting SOOOO big now!!!

Take care and God bless you

Jackie
