I was just looking up answers for why my SCS is acting up it's been a month post op.Came across your forum and thought just maybe someone has experienced something simular and could at least let me know it's okay. Last night I sort of sqatted to get the dogs water bowl, like many times before. And I felt this major sting and then burning. And now today it seems to be doing it frequently .. The pain doesn't last but a second but it's a killer when it happens. So not sure how normal that is .. It honestly feels like my incision in my back is going to pop open and it's totally healed. So not sure if this is anything to worry about and would love some imput. It's not like when you cough or laugh .. Please if anyone has experienced this let me know .. Thanks everyone for your time reading this~

But RRae, Tchr012, or PoohAC might have thoughts about it, frankly, I wonder whether your squat may have somehow loosened a lead and that is what is producing the shocking [kind of like I would get pre SCS when I used Tens and a lead would come out of one of the adhesive pads and shock the dickens out of me].
Hope you get in touch with your rep soon because this kind of phenomenon just has to be irregular. Caring, Mark56 ![]() |

I would highly suggest that you see your Dr. ASAP. I have had my lamanectomy SCS for over 2 yrs and sounds like you may have caused something to be out of place. Please let me know that you will do this. I think the others will agree. Fondly-Carol

I will call my rep tomorrow I have just done alot of relaxing today, due to the weather still causes me havoc and now they have added more flexaril to my list of meds so it's so hard to even focus. But I do know that whatever program I turn my remote on to it's seems to have a different feel .. and it kinda shocks as I turn the stimulation up. I just feel so bad for me rep just last week I called them crying say that all my feeling was in my gut area and I could hardly stand it .. They did say at that time to take it easy that one of the leads had move some .. So knowing me it's probably trouble, and not sure if you all had to stay awake for the first two hours of the surgery but it was the most horrific pain I have had to suffer beside the accident itself and that darm discogram .. I'm just not ready to hear they have moved again, and since the feeling is more into my gut again I'm sure I've done something .. I will keep you all posted .. Thanks for your input, I just don't want to drive my rep crazy! Thanks all

A call on this issue is not "driving your rep crazy," and is a big reason why they provide you their contact data. They expect to hear from you when this kind of issue crops up, so as Carol suggests, calling right away would be a good thing!

Welcome to the forum!
As seems a unanimous response, CALL. It is in NO way putting a wrench in your Reps lives, this is what they get paid to do. Nothing to panic about, but it would be very wise to go with your instinct of knowing that something has gone 'amis'. Especially if you have the percutaneous leads and only one month out.....it's very likely your lead migrated when you stooped down. I'm pretty sure this is similar to what happened in my case and the mistake I made was not addressing it sooner. All they have to do is take a peak either by xray or fluoroscopy to see if one of your leads may have moved or come loose from the anchor(s). If a simple revision is in order, don't be fearful.....just indicate that you would like more local anesthetic be used this time around ![]() PLEASE let us know how it goes! I'm presently waiting for a revision due to one of my leads migrating and it would have been no big deal if I would have caught it early on. Now I'm facing the fear that this lead has had ample time to scar in to the position it has migrated down to. Caring! Rae ![]() |
