Hi Viv
So glad you've had the implant and are resting. What a relief. Take it easy and let others help you for awhile. A great way to end 2011. Hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Sandy

Smile Thank you Sandy Kay

Today is the 4th day, and am still sore. Ha of course. Took my dog for a 10 minute walk twice yesterday, and once today. My dog Coco (Chanel) cheers me up. Lol I need to call surgeons office, so nurse can check incisions, and remove some kind of lead (?). Not sure what lead is hanging out. The communication is lacking quite a bit. The office is so vague, ththat I struggle making sense of what is/has happened. Thank you for well wishes!!

Default Hey Viv

Gee, I just went through a PASSLE of continuing legal education credits because..... well, the ethical person in my profession stays up to snuff.....
SO, guess what!?!?!?!?!?!?! The leading cause of complaints addressed to the office of regulatory counsel of the Supreme Court is...... you got it, five dollars to the lady holding her hand up in row two.... No, the one with the Big Hair!! FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE!! Do you suppose another profession has a licensing authority that might say the greatest and leading cause of complaints is ........... pssst, down here...... FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE!!!!

This is where Rae and Pooh would say, get tough, smack 'em up aside of the head and politely ask for the required attention........ No really, I think they would say something to the effect of give 'em an earful.

Now me, well, I would be inclined to show up,
Sometimes a phone call is a waste,
But then you HAVE just had surgery, give yourself some time, take deep breaths, if stuff is not coming out in violation of the Patient Checkout or Release paperwork and you don't fear incision opening or stuff like that, try to rest, don't get too over gung ho. Such as if Coco is a 200 lb. Mastiff, maybe you should not be holding the leash to walk Coco..... that kind of thing. I tried to pretty much behave after I got out. No ladder climbing. No crawlling under the car, that sort of thing.

May you be well,
Mark56

Default Thanks Mark :)

Glad I'm not the only one.....
Had "wound" check yesterday - five days out. Also met with my representative who gave me a new setting for my stim that helps the back somewhat.
More "lack of communication issues" -- the staples were not removed yesterday, and my next appointment with the doc is twelve days away (12/22).
So, by the time I see the doc, the staples will be nicely grown into my skin. Well, anyway, the nurse will call me on Tuesday, after she talks to the doc to get his OK to have the staples removed next week. Sigh. I'm SO thankful I have some wits about me, to ask questions.
Good note is I'm healing well, and taking my little dog for potty walks. lol She seems to like to lick me more. Wonder if it's because I'm electrical. She likes to lick metal.

I can sure relate to the 'lack of communication', Viv. Seems I'm always getting contradictory advice from my medical team.

Your dog sounds precious! They do somehow 'know' when we are in pain or not feeling well. My Sadie never leaves my side when I'm having a down day and the depression is flaring up.
Her picture is on my profile page. She's my everything.

Default Things going along good - slow but good

I'm glad to have decided to not work for this past two weeks. My doc told me to not drive at all - so that sorta impeded me trying to go to work. My co-workers were willing to pick me up, and bring me in, but I just knew I shouldn't push it. Just need to let the healing take place. Besides, it takes so much effort (for me anyway) to clean up without hopping in the shower. And, I'm still tired during the day. Been able to sit easier with the stim on, and have done some little craft projects for gifts.
Good news is my staples come out this Friday!!
Blessings to everyone on this forum

Yeah for Friday! You will feel so much better by having the staples removed. I'm so glad to hear you're coming along so well.

Hat's off to you, Viv for making the consious decision to stay home and take it EASY. Otherwise, you could very well have put yourself at a risk for a setback.

Once you get your staples out, you will have found a whole new sense of freedom!

I'm so happy things are going well!
