dear scs users
every once in a while something catches my attention when coming to share blessings good to hear so many success stories and then the mutual worry of the remote was funny for a moment i have OCD err on the side of neat and orderly so i could just see myself before i found out my most recent medical emergency my breasts will be taken from me by consent, with a family history and two test that confirm cancer right breast positive so like i was saying until i rudely interrupted myself was and still have my script for a doctor that deals with and who recommended the pain pump can any one give input has anybody been recommended a pain pump by the way won't be returning to the doctor who did both cervical failed surgeries with additional problems worse than prior any surgeries he won't own up too any of the new problems i can't let him get away with it called one lawyer returned my call who rushed me and in the end said no, kept asking have i seen another neurosurgeon couldn't explain (not yet) i have been everywhere had every test and complied did as told i will be the first to admit i must get my point across and will be heard not to many like that attitude HAPPY NEW YEAR

So sorry to hear that you've got more medical problems to deal with!!
![]() ![]() I looked into a pain pump before my SCS's, but the dr. who does the pain pump thought the SCS's would work better and he said he had had a lot of problems with ins. companies reimbursing for the medication that needs to be kept up in the pain pump. In the end, because he is such a highly respected pain mgmt. dr. in this area, I went with another pain mgmt. dr. who he recommded and had the SCS's implant a little over a year ago. I'm glad I went with the SCS's but I think you'll find that there are folks who have had success with pain pumps. Keep in mind that SCS's are strictly for nerve related pain, so maybe that's why others find the pain pumps more beneficial. Fiona |

Hello dearest Eva
![]() I really wish more people would share on pain pumps! Most discussion here is SCS. There have been a few here who loves what the pump does. Here is a testimony from one of our friends who hasn't been here in quite awhile http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/post701979-14.html Here's one from another member: http://neurotalk.psychcentral.com/post619491-2.html AND here's a very informative site thanks to Fiona! You have to scroll down a way before they get to the pain pump. It does a wonderful job of explaining what it's all about. http://www.nationalpainfoundation.or...e-technologies The only negative thing I heard about it (when I asked my Dr about this) was, he said "No, I do not do pain pumps because then I'd have to MARRY you" ![]() I hope you are feeling ok today, Eva....the very last day of 2011. Some of us would surely like to flush this year down the commode! Let's all believe for a new year full of healing testimonials! AMEN ![]() ![]() |

My vets wife had a pain pump for cervical problems. She had a nurse come to the home to re-fill the device, through the skin on her stomach into the pump. She got good pain control with it. She had to have it filled this way monthly. She had a good insurance program with her animal doctor husband to cover this proceedure. I have not talked to her in a long time, so I don't know how she is doing now. I remember her telling me this was a God sent thing to help her. Her back was very curved with degeneration.
Sorry Eva that you didn't have good success with your cervical spine. My first one didn't work very good eithor. I submitted to the second with a different neruo. Had no choice. I still take medications. I did get better. I wish that had worked for you. Hope there is a solution for that issue with you too. You are really dealing with alot of different medical issues. That makes it really hard on a person. I hope you look into the pain pump. I guess that is alot different from other pain devices, that I have read here about. ginnie |

It is not easy to submit to more and more surgery. Funny thing, the reason psych evals are required for more serious surgeries anymore and always for pain management implants is to ferret out the unrealistic expectations and supposed "surgery junkies." Gotta tell ya, I cannot imagine being a surgery junkie. Someone who was that way truly would need some psych help.
One of my "friends" in the friends list "bobinjeffmo" has a pain pump. Check his posts, and you will learn of his perspective. May God's blessings wash over you as freshest of water, mark56 |

Something you said, brought up something I have thought about. All those people who want surgery, surgery junkies. They are out there and I never understood this. Who in their right mind would covet all the pain that goes with these proceedures under the knife? I wouldn't do that for all the tea in china. You have to get me screaming and kicking before I go to surgery. I do not submit easily. It baffles the mind. I hope your New Year is filled with Blessings. ginnie
