Heart More Injections today

Hi guys,

My pain doc did some more nerve blocks this morning and boy has it made a difference. I don't feel as stiff or as rigid, more comfortable in my own skin. It just shows he's getting the right spot and for the surgeons to refuse to remove the problem to give back that freedom is archaic, cave man like, yes it is in an awkward place and yes I do think it won't be easy, even my pain doc is flabbergasted when he can see results like this.
I do however feel extremely tired, my body has been fighting this battle way too long, it's no wonder and I've been pretty much asleep since the surgery. I'm getting sore too at he injection points.
After the surgery he came up to tell me that he wants to write to the Insurance Company to see if they'll fund another SCS, i did ring them the other day, I hope so and I've no idea why he thinks they won't, he told me some time agopp they only fund one SCS because they are so expensive. Yes this is wonderful fantastic technology but it's like Irelands Celtic Tiger, there's no need for it, except for greed, if they were putting most off it back into research and maybe they are then I'll take most of it back!

So I've to see him Wednesday, he maintains I'm good at letters, Mark is the only person I know that's good at letters, he could've just been nice to me!

I introduced a young woman like myself to the forum today she was in the bed beside me, I do hope she says hi, I thinks like the rest of us, has loads to offer and could do with some support, for years all she's had is her family and friends and we know the strength in that but sometimes you need people who just share and know your pain.

Time for more sleepies, Later alligators,

Sinéad xxxx

Heart Blessed Sinéad

How could I possibly sign off for today seeing you had posted. I pray your DO'K who must be good with letters will persuade insurance for your behalf. Would that I might be in a position to share my mind with the insurance on your behalf; however, your physician can certainly do the job.

You have the strength of the Lord through my prayers for sure my dear friend.
Hugs a bunch,
Until the alligator comes again,

Heart My injections yesterday

Hi guys,

After those nerve blocks, I feel looser in the centre of where some of my pain was, I think it will be just a little break but it definitely feels better.
My hips are still hurting and unfortunately there is still some pain in my leg but that might because I haven't used it properly in a long time, it's not sciatica pain. I'm hoping my Insurance company will approve another SCS please say a prayer for me and a good letter from my Dr

Thanks

Until the alligators come again!

Later crocodiles

Hi Sinead

Do I take it from your post that you are in hospital having an op or having the injections. It's great that they worked for you. I've never been lucky with those injections. I do hope you have success with the insurance company re the SCS. Still don't understand why they wouldn't give it to you. I've had a lot of surgeries over the years which has been expensive some within six months of each other and they were covered. One cost 100k€ so why not the SCS??? Please God they will.

When do you get out of hospital?

Jackie

Hope the nerve blocks are successful for you, and keep blocking the pain! I've the injections several times over the years, with mixed results. I think it all depends on whether or not the doc finds the right spot, which I guess can be kind of dicey at times. I'll be praying that you continue to find relief!

Heart Hi Jan

I think you're right it does depend if he Dr hits the right spot and I've too have had many mixed results but this time he knows where my problem areas are because I can't find a surgeon to remove the scar tissue causing the problem because it's wrapped around the S1 nerve root and is awkward to get to, one surgeon would only give me a 2 % success rate and said it would probably grow back anyway within a matter of months so not really worth the risk, but in saying that, it obviously isn't hard for a needle to get to.

We are going to reapply to Insurance company next week to get my second SCS in and I'm praying that they will agree.

How are you getting on, tell me all, I hate talking about me all the time!

Nice chatting to you and please let me know about you.
