Re: blessings Mark

I am glad to hear there is an improvement. You will always be in my prayers. Did the physician let you sleep during all those injections? You are so brave. Take care, and give my best wishes to your wife and family too. ginnie

In the OR, doc rolled me and rolled me on the OR table injecting me with steroids around the entirety of the neck at C7 spaces, then showed me photos from the fluoroscope evidencing his successes. Kinda creepy the images look, but they demonstrate his capacity to "get in."

Yep, OK, the right arm is starting to flare, but, I wanted to share a progress report. Your many many prayers DO COUNT!!

Blessings on you all,

Okay, I understand that you have to do SOMETHING or you'll die of boredom, but don't push your luck, Buddy! Please don't push beyond the "flare". We don't want you to ignite or spontaneously combust, or anything like that! As we all often advise each other, "just do what the doc recommends". (Okay, you can cheat a little, but not a lot.) Most of all, just take good care of you, Mark, and know that you are continually in our prayers and thoughts!

God Bless You!
Jan ;)

another exercise in patience

Like you really need that. All of the waiting is enough to make the most stable go ballistic. You wait and wait for tests. Then you wait for results. Of course there is the wait for surgery unless a crisis pops up. I have had that happen, too, and it was almost a relief as it got me into surgery a week sooner. Then you wait for the surgical flair to calm down. Behave, as you know the drill all too well.

You expressed my thoughts exactly. When I read Mark's post; I thought "oh, I hope he is not going to push this and possibly cause flare ups". It is so difficult for him not to be a do'er and to hold back. But...hopefully he will let things progress without overdoing it.

We are all praying for Mark's continued improvement.

The 911 Call

Right after posting yesterday, the steroids kicked in with a vengeance. I have "enjoyed" every side effect symptom I could, but for menstrual issues since the plumbing does not match that.

Racing heart, palpitations, high fever, and shortness of breath, that last one leading to the ambulance ride for oxygen aided restoration of normative breathing came about. Fever upwards of 102.4 finally broke around midnight.

Today, flu symptoms, although I do not have the flu. I may not be taking steroids again.

Tired,
Signing off,
Thanks for your prayers,

When you explained where you had all the injections and so many, I was concerned. I have had issues and the need a few years back for steroid injections; but never so many at one time. And even with just a few at a time, the palpatations, the headaches, almost excessive energy and one other thing I thought of when you had so many.....is the irritability. Not sure that will be an issue for you; but it can be real easy to jump at others for things you would never had even said a word.

I'm sorry you had such a bad reaction; but all the more reason to allow the steroids to take care of inflamation, etc. You can't afford to aggravate this. There are times when these do work for long periods and possibly indefinitely. But you will really need to go easy with yourself. If these do help considerably, you might only need a minimal number of injections in the future.

Praying,

(Gerry)
