Default It's Here!!!!!!!!!!

The Nexus 10 arrived on Monday. I do have a challenge. When I attempted to hook up and get started, I kept getting a message that the tablet did not recognize the wifi connection. Once that message pops up, everything comes to a grinding halt. I spent four hours on the phone with Google and Samsung on Monday night. I was passed from pillar to post. Everyone said they knew what to do if the device was a Nexus 7 but didn't know squat about the 10s. That was not encouraging since it is their device.

I gave up as I was toooo close to having a vulgar fit. That won't do. Yesterday I found a web board for Nexus 7 and 10s. I posted the situation, let them know that I am not a geek and honestly am android ignorant. I also briefly mentioned my physical problems and can't be running all over town for a "fix". Those angels responded immediately, asked a ton of questions about what I had tried and the general consensous is that the tablet and ancient router are not compatible. When Judy gets here, I will have her throw me in the wheelchair and take me down to a neighbor who has a new router. If that allows the tablet to start up, we have the answer and I can just buy a new router. They also said it is possible that if the router is the tablet problem, there is a chance that my newish Vizio tv is not dead but has a router problem too. I had several upgrades on it durring the last few weeks before it "died". Judy just called and is on her way. Fingers crossed and I am storming the heavens. Will keep you posted.

Smile Ummmmmm Router Router

Yup Spine! Router is a sensitive piece of NECESSARY for the Vizio, as we have one and it is so sophisticated we had to router replace right away. I hope your neighbor visit will be the cat's meow test for your Nexus, then maybe you can begin surfing to your heart's content!!

Besides, we love having you write on here, ya know?
Merry Christmas,
Mark56

Bah Humbug. There are only are two other routers in this building. We ARE a bunch of broke characters My tablet would not recognize that connection either. They were the same brand, installed by our ISP and six or seven years old. I can't help but believe these aging routers can't service the new technology. I am ordering a new router and crossing my fingers.

I am truely wondering if the Vizio is really dead. It was only just under two years old. I am starting to suspect that the router just couldn't pull it. Thank goodness I didn't get rid of it and it is in the corner in the bedroom waiting for someone to figure out what went wrong.

Dark, dreary, and rainy day. I need to crash and deal with all of these challenges tomorrow........assuming it is a better day. I haven't check the weather forcast as I don't like to knowingly hunt bad news. The spineometer is jumping. Y'all be good...........or not. Hugz and prayers.

Mark, are we talking about needing an expensive designer router or will something in the $40-$50 range work, assuming it has current tech.? All it will be servicing will be the tv, which is seldom used, and the tablet which will be a marathon runner. Thanks, Brother.

Heart Current TECH----- Save those Shekels!!

Waste not want not!! Take that money and guard it against folks who want to sell too much router, or designer stuff, or the nefarious "would you like a protection plan with that?"

Oh yeah, the common reality is people are cajoled into spending far too much. Kinda like "super size that for you?" Then we wish we had not.

I hope your spineometer doesn't jerk you around too too much Spiney! I envision an OLD....... yeah I am OLD I reckon, Mighty Mouse caroon "Here I Am To Save the DAY!!!" The episode where the old weather guy was checking his bunions and such when all of a sudden a Noreaster blew in and his limbs went bazonka...... So stay warm, comfy, cozy, throw another log in the "microwave" well, better not do that! BUT, you get the idea. The well kept Spiney is the more comfortable Spiney.

Prayin and hopin, OH, and keep that Vizio and plug it in for initializing once you get a new router up. You see, one reality about Vixio is the tech requires software updates, and if the router is not on tap the updates cannot happen..... causing the system to wait until it can happen.
Hope that will work for you,
Prayin,
Mark56

It's pretty hard to get this old girl to part with her money. The harder they push, the more likely I am to call it a dead deal. BINGO!!!! You are brilliant. I knew there was more to the story of the "dead Vizio"........regardless of what the techs said. They never asked about the router. They just kept saying there was some sort of domino hardware crash. I didn't look , walk, or quack like a crash. It looked like some sort of lack of power. No messages reflecting mechanical failure. It acted like it was permanently unplugged. If the Vizio was receiving updates, the router no longer supported the technology. It's alive!!!!!!!! Bhaw ha ha ha ha Hopefully the new router will get the Nexus up and running. I will settle for waking the Vizio up. I will have my grandson get it (the Vizio) hooked up after I get home from the hospital and settled. He set it up initially and I still have the book. Back to bed and perhaps a little peaceful sleep now. Thanks.

Heart Nah, Brilliance is a flash in a bulb

And I think my Bulb flashed some time ago. The Vizio thing is something we experienced here at home in the last year. TV would not work without the download. Maybe, and hopefully, it will be the case for you, something like waking up the tech stuff, and saving money.

BUT, it is possible I could be off base just like in baseball. So, I will wait until you find out. In the meantime my friend, please let me wish for you a restful night.

Prayin,
Mark56
