I almost don't have time for these lol. How do you sleep after the cervical stim implant? Seems like it would be hard. Little worried about going in at C2 although if I understand correctly no lami needed. Also, a jump incision to get the wire to the left hip battery. Anyway, jitters are high placement, anesthesia (like always), pain, and just more time off and I'm really worried about blood clots. I have been told I have no bigger chance than anyone else since mine were due to not moving. Anyway, just really scared.
Also yellow, I'm glad we will be recovery buddies. Prayers and reassurance would be awesome! Hands shaking while I type and still up at midnight! ![]() TK ![]() ![]() |

with ALL of your heart, and lean not on your own understanding
in ALL of your ways acknowledge Him and HE will make your doctor's hands sure. So, I paraphrased a little bitty bit, the words of assurance are there for this and other situations. All will be well All will be well and praying all manner of things will be well for our TK and Yellow. ![]() ![]() |

While my implant is for sciatica, I have had three wicked cervical surgeries. I always used a foam neck support pillow to keep my head in a relatively comfortable position. I still use it if I have a nasty fibro or arthritic flare. I found it helpfull to sleep in a large recliner with a ton of pillows. Finding the best position is trial and error. And could change. Try to go with the flow. Easier said than done.

Post cervical surgery, I was issued this most uncomfortable of collars which had to be worn for 12 weeks..... It tended to assure I would promote healing while keeping the neck somewhat stable. Dunno whether the implant will be treated similarly, but the rationale seems similar.

Log roll..log roll..log roll when changing position in the bed or on the sofa. It is easier on the neck and far more comfortable. Hang in there. Hugs and prayers.

I'm 2 days post op. So far not too terrriblr. Very sore and sleepy. Placing the lead was the easy part. Apparently tunneling was terrible. I have five incisions. Right now just resting. Hope to write more later.
