Hello all,
I was wondering how often you all charge your SCS? I'm having issues with my Medtronic RestoreSensor w/Adaptive Stim. in that it is discharging the battery very quickly. For instance from full to drained in less than 48 hours. My average amplitude is 3.7 and my Hertz is set to 240 running 24/7. Does this seem abnormally fast to anyone? Thanks in advance for your input, Tessa |

Hey Tessa! Both of my stimulators are St Jude. When I was running them everyday, I charged every week to week and a half. I would think that yours draining within 48 hours is pretty quick. Have you contacted your rep about it?

Yes, I just spoke with my rep. We have had several discussions about this over the past week and it appears my battery might have a problem. Tomorrow we are going to conference in tech support and hope/pray they have an answer without the need for surgical replacement!!! Initially it was lasting a full 7 days and still never drained completely.. now it is draining faster and faster. Grrrr. just adds to the stress! Thanks for the input!! Tessa |

I'm sorry to hear this, Tess. I also have a Medtronic AdaptiveStim. Mine was doing the same thing when I first had it implanted. My rep told me not to have any of the other setting up and running because that's what drains the battery quickly. So now I just keep it on one setting. If I need to change to a different setting then I ramp my current setting way down. Also I have my amplitude running slower. That also buys some battery time.
Shucks tho, If you've been in touch with your Reps, I'm sure they would have pointed out the obvious so maybe there is a problem with the battery. ![]() Our good friend Jackie had to have her battery changed out. Hopefully she will see this and have something to offer. Meanwhile, you are in my prayers and whatever is the cause, I pray that it's an easy fix. Caring, Rae ![]() |
