Thank you for all your welcomes and good wishes... much appreciated.

Well it has been two weeks now since the implant and all is good, I can feel a lead close to my spine before it dives deeper and this is a little sore, but then I have been sitting a fair bit and happy maybe put a bit to much pressure in that area, will have be a bit more active within limitations of course.

Have only ran out of charge once, and certainly knew about it, won't do that again in a hurry

Apart from a little surgical discomfort all is well

Default battery charge

Hi Wingy...double check with your rep on this...

I have a Metronic unit...was told not to let it run out completely...I forget the word he used tho it meant that the battery would not recharge if I let it completely drain out too many times.

Hi Wingy, I've got the Nevro stenza as well. I have mine on program 3, level 3 running 24/7. I recharge my portable charger from the mains straight after I've charged myself up. My rep told me to charge both myself and the charger every day so I do it every morning. I've found if I use the Velcro holder equipment they gave me I can put the portable charger on and potter around the house doing my normal morning routine and it's fully charged up within 45 minutes at the most. The more green bars showing on the charger the quicker it charges. I guess it's where you have the battery that makes the diff between when you can make the most of charging. Mine is in my right butt and I can angle the paddle charger over it nicely using the Velcro holder. I get the most green bars showing if the paddle is just half covering the wound site and the 3 green bars all stay lit up if I'm walking or standing, sitting or lying down gets me two bars and it takes longer to charge. My rep also suggested I not let it run out as it's not good for the long term life of the battery. Welcome to the world of living life with less pain. May it give you back your stolen energy and life.

Many thanks for the charging advise guys, yep looks like I need to get into a routine with charging. My IPG is in my tummy and I too can wear the Nevro belt and charge while mobile... as long as I keep straight so as not to make it move.

I am favouring program two or three at the moment and have been advised to have it on max during the day and knock it down a couple of bars at night.

Does any one here know what the selected program actually changes on a Nevro, I assume that the min/max setting is power intensity, but am not sure in the program selection changes frequency or activates a particular electrode of the eight electrodes on the end of the lead?

I like to understand this sort of stuff being a bit of a tech-freak

Cheers all, Wingy
