Pain pump questions
Hello all,
New to this board this evening. I have been offered a pain pump for pain due to surgical damage / complications related to transvaginal mesh. I won't go in to any of the gory details, but first and foremost, please do not let any surgeon implant ANY type of mesh into the body of you or anyone you love!! No matter what lies they tell you, trust me, "Its not the harmful mesh" and similar lies are just that...lies. PLEASE educate yourself, or, feel free to contact me and I would be happy to help point you to medical evidence that this will destroy your life.
Now that I have that off of my chest, as I said above, I have been offered a pain pump. I originally thought this would be a Medtronic pump, but have learned today that it will be a Boston Scientific.
I am terrified to have anything else implanted in my body. I don't have a lot of trust in physicians for obvious reasons. I do feel comfortable with my pain doc, though. I need to speak with people here who have had pain pumps. I need to know if they have in fact been beneficial for you, was it a good decision?
I have been in another pain pump support group and know the basics of how they work, the process going forward, the implantation, refills.
Are there distinct differences in Medtronic vs Boston Scientific? What medications are you using?
Thank you in advance if you are able to help and answer questions for me. I am scheduled already for my psych appt. I will now be in a quest to find out what material this pump is made of.
