Sandy, I wish I had those rocks you are moving out! We have an area at the end of our property that is part of the drainage basin for our neighborhood and we want to line the sloping area from our property to this basin with river rock...before the soil washes out from under our fence!

Glad you found some helping hands for the job!

What a week! The whole family is fighting off allergies and sinus issues. SO that leaves mom to growl and coral to get folks moving this week. Oldest son has been too dizzy to drive because of sinus pressure... so I have had to drop him off for his classes. Two days he drives to a campus 30 miles away, so I spent those two days exploring that area and getting into shopping trouble .

THEN to top off the week... my DH was in an auto accident on Wednesday. He was driving my car... he had a very early morning appt at the Veterans Admin hospital 3 hours away. Combine really early driving with unfamiliar territory and rush hour ... not a good combination. He is ok...just shook up. Good thing he was going for a physical, so he was checked out head to toe . Now to deal with insurance and that entails. edited to add: The other lady was fine also. She hit him at just the right spot on my car that it poked a hole in her radiator, but barely scratched the front of her SUV. But it took off most of the plastic on the bumper of my car! No damage to the frame. No airbags deployed, so it was a low mph fender buster! Oh and this is the same car that was repaired back in April from hail damage!! LOL

He was really upset about my car... but you know if he had not taken my car I would have not been driving his old beater... I am the one in the family with mechanical ability and I realized just how unsafe his little NIssan is. It is 19 years old... it's time to replace it! My legs have been in spasms after driving that thing. I love driving a stick shift, but I don't guess I can safely do it anymore.

Guess I'm making up for being gone all week....

Wiz... good luck in your job search.

Sox... enjoy your alone time! I know we wish we could freeze time and keep those young ones around longer... I miss those days ...some days. At my age, I appreciate the me time more too!

Finlady... I hope you are feeling better.

Kitty... I sympathize with the allergies. We all are sneezing and coughing here. At least it is cooling down some and you can see the beginnings of fall in the trees. The green is fading already!

Barb... computer troubles... what a pain when you rely so heavily on them! Hope they resolve the issue for you soon.

Weave... sorry about the tuition hike for the program you wanted. I hope you find a way to work it out.

Tkrk... glad to see your DDs are off to a good start for college. You are braver than me tackling classes. I thought about it, but realized my recall and ability to keep a thought going would create more stress than I can handle.

as someone mentioned in a previous post... TGIF !! my down day!!

Hi everyone. I posted in the Stumble Inn and Sanctuary about my BIL's brother passing away. It was so sudden and tragic.......I'm just shocked. I just spoke with my nephew on the phone and he said his Dad's taking it pretty hard.

My allergies are in full swing......what is growing that's making me so miserable??? Seems that the older I get the worse my allergies become.

I need to do some things around the house today but just lack any motivation. I've managed to do a load of laundry.....guess that's something.

Everyone have a safe and fun holiday weekend.

Pam, glad DH is okay. Wrecks are scary.

Afternoon all. This school- for- me stuff has me in a major funk. I can see me making some lists over the weekend followed by phone calls or emails during the coming week.

I'd like to choke someone at our bank. First they send DH three letters saying they can't do anything to help us with our mortgage and then they send him an email saying they think they can reduce it some. So DH goes in to talk to them and gets told they can't do anything after all.

I've just been informed DD just got her driver's permit.

Is it too early to go to bed and pull the covers over my head for the rest of the day?

Hi all,
Up in the northwoods of Wis. The leaves are already beginning to change up here...early fall, I bet.
The inlaws are so enjoying being up here...glad we brought them up.
I'm doing a tiny bit better today...not so weepy. Walking a teensy bit better. But this bladder thing has me in a tizzy. Neuro gave me the name of a urogynecologist to see, highly recommends I visit him, due to the numbness, urge and incontinence. Another doc...sheesh
DD and her new DH are expected up here around 8 tonight...haven't seen them since the wedding weekend. So it'll be great to get together.
I truly hope all of you have a wonderful weekend. Stay healthy, safe, and happy...

Kelly, the allergies are probably from ragweed. With all the rain we've had this summer it is growing in abundance here. With all the money cut backs many states are not keeping it clipped along highways and byways... so it is bad year.

There is an interesting article about allergies and ragweed on Consumer Reports website... I get their RSS feed daily so not sure where on the site it is.

Kelly, so sorry to hear about the loss. Keeping the whole family in prayer.

Pam, so thankful DH is ok.

Debbie, glad you're having a great time up north. As to the bladder stuff, I've had to see a urologist too. He confirmed that the bladder stuff was caused by the MS and gave me some helpful hints and such. Not perfect, but a little better now.

Weave, sorry to hear about the bank stuff. I've had to fight with some of the med people recently to find out what's been going on. One sent us to collections when they shouldn't have (and they are fixing that), and the other billed the insurance company incorrectly and tried coming after me for the balance. They are duking it out right now, and I have it on my schedule to call them next week to see what's up.

Sandy, hoping the boys show up to help you this weekend with the rocks and you can get that discount.

~~~~~~~~~
Happy Labour day weekend everyone!!!!!
Beautiful day and not sure what we're going to do. May paint some. Trying to do handmade bookmarks to sell at my festival tent next weekend. Those little suckers have been hard to prep.
On the plus side, the thunking in my head is less. So thinking the inflammation in the eye was causing it and the drops are helping. But waiting to talk to eye doc again next week to see where to go from here before I call the neuro about some of my other issues. Especially since hubby is starting to get in a tizzy about it, despite the fact he understands why I'm doing my order of operation.
Hoping everyone has a wonderful and safe weekend!!!
Good Morning all. I can't believe it's Labor Day Weekend already.....but I'm so glad it is. This means Fall and Winter are not far away. I'm so tired of this hot, humid weather.
I'm not doing anything special for the holiday. It's still pretty warm here and rain is in the forecast so I'll be inside. I have lots of housework to catch up with so this will be a good weekend to do that. Both boys are gone off to spend the weekend with friends so I have a quiet house to clean.
Oldest DS is moving out at the end of October with his girlfriend. That will give me my spare bedroom back. Think I'll move the treadmill in there and put a TV, too. Maybe that will motivate me to start using it again!
I haven't heard when or where my BIL's brothers funeral will be held. I plan on going to the visitation but not the funeral. It will be crowded as he was a firefighter and they usually all turn out when a fellow firefighter dies regardless of the circumstances. So ironic.....he risked his life so many times while working and then, on one of his off days, this accident happened. Makes me think about all the family I've lost over the past 8 years......just makes me sad. I hadn't lost anyone close to me except my grandmother during my whole life......then wham, it all happens pretty much at once. Just makes me think about it too much and too often.
OK, enough with the sad talk. I need to get started on this dirty house. First, another cup of coffee.
Ya'll have a good holiday weekend and stay safe.
