(((kelly))) It's so, so difficult when a young person dies so suddenly...so shocking. Prayers still going out for the families...

Fin, glad the thumping is lessening...

Wish we would have had this gorgeous weather earlier in the summer! The lake water is nice, and the sun is shining and it's absolutely beautiful! DD and new DH arrived safely last night, and we've had a good time playing games and taking them tubing. So nice to see my Pumpkin again!!

Play safe everyone, and remember this is a holiday to celebrate the contributions of all of our regular Joes and Janes who put so much into work...

Hi all! We've been out all day digging rocks. Here's a cute pic of the guys that helped out. I still have some work to do but not the back bending kind anymore.

Evenin' all. Hugs all around.

Well my school funk is lifting some. Would still be nice if I had a crystal ball or something like that. Oh well, such is life.

Not much happening this weekend. DS was supposed to go on a sleepover but it fell through at the last minute. He is miffed at DD who got invited to one kind of spur of the moment. Life ain't always fair kiddo. Deal. I'm sure we will throw something on the BBQ on Monday and call it a holiday.

Went to a book store today intending to only get one book. I walked out with two. Time to curl up again with the career picking title. It suggests careers based on your personality. I still don't have the peace I'm looking for about becoming an MT. After all this time I think I need to move on. If I come back to it I know which school I won't be going to.

Have a safe holiday everyone.

Way to go for that rock-moving team Sandy! They did a great job helping you. I hope you rewarded them well.

Weave,

I hope it works out for your schooling. When I went to college starting in my late 30s, I started thinking of one subject and changed a few times and finally ended up in business and computers/IS classes. My degree is in business administration because by the time I finally got to finish it, it was the most practical one in my late 40s. It will hit you one day of what you really want from your studies.

My biggest desire was to have training for a good job but I ended up wanting something general that I could apply to many occupations. It will all work out, you'll see.

Kelly:

Everybody:

Enjoy the rest of your holiday weekend.

It was pretty warm today so I stayed inside and did tax work for the businesses. I was tired anyway because my infusion was yesterday.

Tomorrow I hope to garden and work out if it isn't too hot. I haven't shot any baskets yet this week so maybe I can do so tomorrow at some point. I need to set up some little seed baskets too so I can attempt to harvest some flower seed for next spring.

Hugs and prayers and good thoughts to all who need them...

Morning all The sun is shining, and I have coffee!!!

Been considering calling the neuro. Pain and spacticity has gotten worse, which is fun when it happens on a holiday weekend - LOL! Even my stretching has begun to hurt, so need to call him on Tuesday. Fun, fun, fun.

But other than that, still doing what I'm doing. Being the stubborn, mad artist.

Praying all have a safe weekend!!!

Morning all! Surprisingly I am not sore yet so I will be going out to try and finish off the rocks today once the rain lets up. I think the landscaper will trip out when he sees the rocks gone! LOL Hope he takes even more money off for us! I'll probably try and do some laundry as well since I am running out of necessities.

Have a good weekend everyone. for all of you having pain.

Hello everyone! That's a great pic of your DS's friends, Sandy! What nice guys to help out like that.

I haven't cooked real food in quite a while so I got up this morning and put a big pot of green beans on, boiled some potatoes and made a big bowl of mashed potatoes (I'll put some crumbled bacon in them before serving) and I'm defrosting some ground beef to make a meatloaf. Later on I'll make some biscuits. It just sounded good and I had all the fixins' for it. Oldest DS said he'd be home for supper tonight so that's good. Youngest DS has gone to play golf with a group of his friends. It's a pretty day here today.

I keep thinking about my BIL's brother that was killed on Friday. I keep thinking about his wife. They were married for 36 years! I have a pretty good idea of what she's going through right now and it just breaks my heart that she has to feel this kind of pain. The visitation is tomorrow afternoon......at the same funeral home that both my parents services were held. It's hard to go back but I'm going to go.

On a brighter note my tomatoes are beginning to turn red! They're grape tomatoes so they won't get too big. There's a new cucumber out there and dozens of jalapeno peppers.....I've got to find someone who likes them! We don't eat them. The canteloupe and watermelon are still growing. Not sure how long it's going to take before they're ready to eat. I think we'll have much better results from this garden next year.

Well, going to go read the Sunday paper and relax for a while. I've had a sinus headache since I've gotten up this morning and nothing seems to help it.

Ya'll have a safe holiday!

Kitty - I grow jalepenos too, but not to eat. You can freeze them, just put in a bag as they are. They'll last a year or so.

I chop and de-seed, and put one or two in stew, soup, chilli, stuff like that. You can put some bits in a pickle jar in the fridge - leave set for a couple weeks - to spice up the pickles.

Adding just a tad gives food a tiny kick and lots of flavor without too much heat - and it's really good for you.

Last year we grew thai hots and dried them. Holy moley those things are smokin'!

Well, they pulled *our* house off the Realtor's website, so I guess that means - finally - they're accepting our offer. Things are still way up in the air. Is dh gonna have a job here come spring? Who knows... My Magic 8 ball says it's unclear. His old department is firing back up again, word is, and if they call him back, he is determined to go.

I know this; we can afford this house now but if we wait, they are gonna go out of our price range. Florida ain't gonna happen if it doesn't happen this year.

I told him this is why people stick with the thing they know. At least it's the same old garbage instead of new, scary garbage. but you never get a shot at change for the better either.
