Things are going much better with the kitties now. They're becoming good friends but they wrestle a lot. Daisy is getting bigger and stronger so she can keep up with Rocky most of the time. He still gets too rough sometimes though and they have to be separated. She's jumping and exploring now too.

She does something that's hilarious and adorable. We have these little furry fake mice and if she finds one she starts "killing it" and starts hissing and growling if anybody comes near her. She also runs with it in her mouth. :D Rocky won't even get near her when she's "killing" one of these mice. Her momma was an outdoor cat and very tough and scrappy and I'm sure she learned this from her. :D

WE GOT SNOW!!

oh I love this time of year!! over 12 inches!! and 4-6 more on it's way!! and got 6 more months of it ... I was born in April ... and by then - I'm ready for spring!!

Had rain/sleet all day yesterday. Now it is snowing and the wet roads are turning to ice. The wind is terrible -- freezing out. It sounds as if the trees are going to break. And is supposed to be colder tomorrow. I am in my office at school right now. As soon as my class is over, I am heading home. I was supposed to go to a holiday lunch on campus, but I gave my ticket away. Wish me luck on walking to my car.

Vonn, You are crazy:)!

Barb, hear ya on the wind. We've got it too. It looks like somebody's potential garden pond is in my neighbor's yard.

Made it home. Sidewalks and parking lots are all ice. Streets are turning to ice. We are down to 24 degrees, with a windchill of 7. Tomorrow, the wind chills are supposed to be zero to - 7. Is this the kind of cold weather you like Kelly?;)

I plan on wrapping some presents this afternoon, and taking a long winter's nap. I am praying that my house does not blow away to Ohio. I think that is the direction of the wind.

I love it!! :o Of course, we don't get it very often this far south but when we do I really enjoy it. I know......I'm strange! :p

We have a wind advisory today. Wind gusts of 40+ mph. I believe it, too. I can hear it through my chimney. Our temps today are dropping and we'll be in the high 20's by tomorrow morning and not out of the 40's through Sunday. We even got some sleet and snow last weekend but nothing much. The ground is still too warm for it to stick.

Ya'll be careful in the ice and snow up there. I know this is par for the course for you and you're used to it. I'd take it more often down here if it were up to me!

Vonn07 12-09-2009 12:30 PM

don't worry, Barb ... my friends say that I'm nuts, anyways ... when I went in for my MRI to dx for the MS ... (looking for some support/sympathy/empathy) ... I would get a 'blank' look from them with the comment "but, don't you need a brain first for them to scan?" ...

I know, I know .. I have the bestest friends ever!! these are the ones that KNOW they can pick on me!!

we learned in our family that if you don't pick on each other - they really don't care about you ...

I've turned it around by being a 'complimentary' picker ... and encourager ... :D

Vonn........your family sounds like mine. If my dad doesnt pick on ya, it
means he doesnt like you.;)

Hi everyone. Dropping by long enough to pass out hugs, prayers, safe travel wishes and vent. Will post again when I'm in a better mood.

major non-festive rant alert. leave post or proceed with caution.

I figure this is DD's last Christmas before leaving home for college and everything that happens after that. I wanted the decorating to be the best ever, or at the very least, better than average. As usual the house looks like an explosion in a Goodwill store. Partly my fault, and partly out of my hands. Scratch best ever decorating. I went up into the attic to get two large trees, came down with one and quit. Hello least amount of decorating ever. My nerves will not tolerate getting anything more. DD saw how upset I was and offered to get the the other tree herself. I showed her the mess that is the attic. She understood. Getting DH to do it is out of the question. I'm putting up one tree and my card basket and I fear that is all I will so this year. I can get to smaller decorations but there is no point to decorating an explosion. Something tells me the clutter isn't going away any time real soon. Not at all the Christmas I wanted for my DD's last childhood one. I've already had myself a little cry, still mad as h*** but slowly moving on.

ok. rant over.

barb02 12-09-2009 01:46 PM

Okay -- Now I think that both Kelly and Vonn are crazy:D My entire house is shaking and one of my students told my she saw a squirrel blown out of a tree.
