Sandy, still praying for you guys.:hug: Hope everything gets figured out for your mom's care.
Trish, glad to see you're starting to feel better. Debbie, sorry to hear about the sudden fatigue and hope the UTI clears up soon. Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug: ~~~~~~ Met a friend for lunch yesterday, which was fun. :) Kittens and momma have found a way under our deck and are still here. Trying to decide what to do about that since most of the shelters around us are full. and have a dentist appointment in a little while :P And lost some more weight, so I'm actually doing good with that so far. :) Now if I could only do more, I'd be such a happy camper :) Take care everyone!!! |
Cloudy day here today. Cooling off a bit, too.
I'm looking on ebay for miniature artificial Christmas trees (probably 4) that I can put on my fireplace mantle this year. With three cats now it's so difficult to have a full sized tree. Tigger still tries to climb it and I have no doubt Panda will be at the top of it in record time! I'm thinking I'll just line the mantle with small trees and decorate around them. Easier for me, too. I found a few that are less than $5 each. I'll think on it for a day and see how I feel about it tomorrow. At least they'll be something I can save and use year after year. I can't believe it's almost that time of year again! Congratulations on the weight loss, Jenn! :) Good luck with the kittens. The three that were on my porch a couple of days ago haven't returned. I hope they're okay but so relieved they decided to hang out elsewhere. :o Everyone have a good Wednesday! :grouphug: |
Good Morning. It is a busy time at school and I have not had much time to post. Tummy is doing better as far as the nausea goes. I still have little appetite and am experiencing some acid reflux, but it seems as if it is improving.
Sending out hugs to everyone. |
Afternoon!! Hope everyone is well...
Jenn, great job on continuing weight loss...I lost 2.5 lbs this week...but cheated the last couple of days, so working out basically goes to cancel that out:rolleyes: Feel a bit better today...took my last anitbiotic, so I hope the tummy is better soon...I go for a followup UTI check on Friday, so we'll see if I'm cured or not... Took MIL to the cardiologist today...I asked if her BP problems could be due to dementia...he said it most definitely could...:( otherwise she's doing fine. He gave her some tips about wiggling her legs before standing up to give her body time to readjust her BP...also told her to drink fluids...that's becoming her mantra:rolleyes: We're going over to their place for dinner/cards in a little while. Then I have to take her to her pcp tomorrow...and grocery shopping on Friday...lots of face time with them... Well, hope everyone has a great evening...:) |
Debbie and Barb, glad to hear you two are feeling better :)
Kelley, I've gone outside a couple of times today to only sit close by. The first everyone poofed, but the second only one went to hide. Trying to figure out how to get them somewhere since my fur baby is starting to not like having squatters, lol :) Everyone, :grouphug::grouphug: ~~~~~~~~ Well, have an infection in the gums. Between two of my teeth, and would definitely explain why I've felt so run down the past few weeks. So popping antibiotics and hoping for the best. Take care everyone! :grouphug::grouphug: |
Good Morning!
It is actually chilly here and I am wearing a very a light weight sweater. But it looks beautiful out and I think the temperature is supposed to go up to 70 degrees. I am all ready for my 11:00 class and trying to grade papers. I have read and graded two so far and have put four on the bottom of the stack:rolleyes: Well back to the grindstone:p Hope you all are having a good day. |
Good morning everyone!
Jenn - Sorry to hear about the infection and I hope you start feeling better soon. Barb - Happy Grading!:p Kelly - I put up a mini tree last year. I took the top from our tree and put it in a planter that I had. It was much easier for me to manage. Wait, I can't believe we're talking Christmas trees and it's only the beginning of October.:p Um, back to Halloween . . .Cute avatar, Kelly!:D Sox - I hope your dad's surgery went well yesterday. Saying some prayers for a speedy recovery for him. Debbie - Keeping you and your family in my prayers as well. Dementia can be such an awful thing. One of my friend's dad had Pick's disease (frontotemporal dementia). It was hard on her as his behavior was horrible, one of the characteristics of the disease. He spent years institutionalized because of it and recently passed away. Emotionally, it was really hard on her as he became more abusive than he was in the past. Additionally, while doing my nursing training, I spent one of my rotations in a nursing home. :( I loved working with the elderly but there were many sad moments. I think it is awesome that you are there for your in-laws and help them out. You truly are an wonderful, compassionate person. Wiz - Where are you? How's work going? Hi everyone else! Thinking of you as well and hoping everyone has a great day! |
Hello everyone. :)
Tricia, I looked up Pick's disease and it sounds so much like what my sister had. We were always talking about how her "dementia" was so different from our Mom's (who had Alzheimer's). I'm beginning to think my sister might very well have had Pick's. Guess we'll never know. :( Debbie, you do so much for your in-laws. They're incredibly blessed to have a DIL like you in their lives. Pace yourself and let DH help at home as much as you can. I know....easier said than done. The weather here is so beautiful today. It's cool but not uncomfortably so. Tricia, I know....I hesitated to bring up Christmas but I need time to prepare if I'm going to have any decorations up at all this year. Since there are no small children in my home and no grandbabies (yet) I think I'll just take the easy route this year and just do the miniature trees on the mantle. These cats are like having a bunch of 2-year olds! I cut my index finger on my left hand yesterday while cutting up some frozen chicken breasts.....I need to change the bandaid and put some more medicine on it. It sure is sore this morning. Everyone have a great Thursday! :grouphug: |
Hi Everybody,
This is my second day off in a row. I work the next five days, then have a training in Schaumburg on the 6th day to learn about 4G and how it works. That's only four hours but it's a 90 minute drive each way. The day after is my day off. At least I can sleep late on the training day though because I don't have to be there until 1pm. Work combined with my spanish classes is very tiring. I'll be finished with them in less than a month though. That will be such a relief. :thud: I barely have time to exercise and it's so nice outside lately! I'm going to work in the yard today though and maybe go for a bike ride too. I need to straighten the house too first and pay bills and clean off my desk. Better get moving... Have a great day dear friends... Hugs and prayers going out for each of you. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: |
Hi all...it's beautiful after a chilly morning here...
Barb, LOL on putting some of the papers at the bottom...back in the day, I was the coordinator of building usage at one of our high schools. I had to call department heads, custodians, etc to make sure all wer in sync regarding when organizations wanted to use the facility after school hours. I can remember shoving many orders and requests to the bottom if time allowed, mainly because department heads wouldn't cooperate with me:mad: One of the worst jobs I ever held...so I get it...you'll get to them later...;) Trish and all, thanks for your kind words...I do feel useful helping the inlaws out...but it's very frustrating, esp regarding FIL...when DH checked their med trays last night, he noticed his dad hadn't been taking his Parkinson's meds. He asked him about it, and he said, "I don't want to.":mad: He feels the meds make him sleepy...the neuro told him to take a no-doz or caffeinated coffee in the morning and afternoon. But he'd rather not do as he's told....then when he ends up in a fetal position in a nursing home like his brother, he'll have something else to blame the docs for... Now he wants to see a specialist about getting a corneal transplant because his eye is getting clouded over...the glaucoma specialist doesn't recommend it...but he wants it. It could involve several surgeries, complications, one of which involves losing the small amount of eyesight he has, and infection. So why should I go to the trouble of driving him here and there when he doesn't even ensure that he'll be able to walk??? I am very, very livid, as you can probably tell:rolleyes:. I don't know why I bother to take him to [B]any[B] doctors... Okay, rant over. Where's Sandy?:confused:Hope Jim and her mom are all right, esp Jim... Question: when you're on anitbiotics for a UTI, is the possiblity of an exacerbation lowered? I've been battling this sucker for a couple of weeks now, and my leg/back spasms are getting horrible on a gradual basis...and I even fell asleep last night while we were playing cards with the inlaws:eek: I am sleeping an average of 4-6 hrs/day, and all night (most nights). I wonder if I should call the neuro, or just see if healing this UTI will make the sxs dissipate... Well, I need to get back to getting things cleaned up here...I was gone all day what with MIL's doc appt. and my hair appt...I'm all pretty now so now I need to get sweaty with cleaning:rolleyes: Have a good evening, friends!! |
