Good Morning!

There's frost on the grass in my front yard this morning! Brrrr! It'll get into the 70's this afternoon so it's not quite as cool as I prefer but we're gettin' there.

I've got nothing special planned for today. Just reading and relaxing.

Hope everyone here has a great weekend. Remember to keep your pets inside on Halloween.....there's alot of sick people out there who'd get a kick out of doing them harm. :mad:

Sore throat is almost gone. Now I have progressed to the constant nose blowing and coughing phase. Going with a friend and her daughter to an arts festival in a little while. She is fighting a head cold so she does not care about my germs.:o We are not going to stay too long -- just check it out.

Haven't been on in a few days...the spasticity has increased so much that I called the neuro on Friday...DH and I went in to see his associate since my neuro isn't in town. Just discussed setting up a schedule to max out on the zanaflex and gave me an exercise to help stretch the shin muscles that are the main source of pain.
But the maxing out isn't helping, and now even when I take a breath I get back spasms or The Hug, as well as all of the other spasms...I'm miserable.
The nurse keeps blaming it on the UTI I had, but how long after ending anitbiotics and testing clean do you keep dealing with symptoms?

Added to that, my cog fog has increased tremendously over the past few weeks. Yesterday, as DH and I were getting ready for a wedding that was 180 mi. away, DD texted me and asked how the drive was going...I texted back "We're still at home(?)". I knew something wasn't right...
so I looked at the invitation again (I'd looked at it 4 times over the past two days)...and instead of the 3 pm start that I'd thought..it was to begin at 1:30pm...and it was just shy of noon when I looked:eek:
DD texted "You know it starts at 1 3 0 right?"
I wailed to my DH, who was just about ready...we were out and on the road in five minutes. He drove like a madman, and we arrived just as the wedding ended:( He made it in 2 hrs. 15 min. It is a ride that usually takes at least 2 hr 30 min...

oh well...the bride was beautiful, and we danced a little, and we just put it in the swiss cheese symptom column:rolleyes: along with all of the other things I've done wrong the past couple of weeks.

We have another wedding this afternoon...then only one more in a couple of weeks, and we're done with them for the year...that'll make 7 this year:eek:

We cleaned out the pond and moved all of our fish to the bottom, and DH found a baby fish!! It's so cute and little...I hope it makes it through the winter!:)

Good morning! It is cold here and I do not like this. Bring back the 70's please. I am not sure how many trick or treaters we will get, it varies every year. I plan to turn off the porch light at 7pm. That's when it supposed to end anyway. We have to get our showers and tucked in bed for Jim's appointment tomorrow. He's doing a driving test to check if he needs new equipment, which we found out last week he does need. Then he has a dental appointment. After this we should be done for the year.

The hours for trick or treat here are from 5:00 until 8:00. Since my cold is worse, I may just put the candy out on the front stoop with a sign that says Happy Halloween. Of course, a few kids may take all of the candy, but I do not want it so ...

Beautiful day here today. A little too warm for my liking, though. It's supposed to be 75! Enough of the warm weather already! It's Fall!

I still haven't bought anything to give out tonight. I figured I'd buy a bag of bubblegum later this afternoon. But.....DS27 called yesterday afternoon and said he'd hoped I'd just turn the porch light off and not answer the door. He's still in VA on his training trip and there has been alot of discussions there about this latest terrorist plot to bomb the synogauge in Chicago. He never came out and said anything specific but I get the feeling there is more to the whole situation than the "authorities" are telling (the public, anyway).

Okay.....gotta get movin'. Hope everyone has a nice Sunday. :grouphug:

Trick or Treat .. money or eats!

just went and picked up 2 bags of candy for the treaters - and one for me (kit-kats)!! they come around (if any) between 4-7pm .. and Sandy - same here - LIGHTS OFF at 7p!!

sorry that you're not feeling well, Barb - it's silly weather that doesn't help either! how was the art festival??

the craft show was A-OKAY for me .. made my table ($25) .. and then some and only purchased something to eat (to help out the Juniors that sponsored the show) for $4 out of my own pocket, too!

was invited to another craft show (strictly crafts! no tupperware, or anything) ... that's $50 on the 20th ... and the high school kids from another town is having a craft show on the 13th ($20) ... not sure about doing one on the 27th, tho ..

been able to pay my bills, and stay ahead ... and put money into savings to purchase land next spring ... and then to start building!! it'll be an interesting summer!!

and I have tax season that will help with the building fund! I have a friend that can do the carpentry, another that is a licensed plumber, and another licensed electrician ... and I plan to do all the painting and decorating myself ... should be fun ... because it's only a small lighthouse - open-concept like a simple, studio apartment ... and my neighbor sells appliances! can't go wrong with that!

well, making up some more Christmas runners ... off I sew!!

Well, we set a record for trick or treaters last night. We had a whopping "0". ZERO. Zilch....nadda. It doesn't really surprise me, though. People are celebrating differently now. The days of feeling safe - especially accepting candy from strangers - are gone. Sad but true.

I broke down yesterday and put a bowl of dry cat food and a bowl of water out behind our storage barn in the backyard. It's away from the house and won't encourage the stray kitties to hang out on my patio. But I just couldn't watch them wandering around.....so skinny.....without sharing some of our food with them. Bless their little hearts. I just looked out the window and there was a pigeon eating the cat food. :rolleyes: What next?? Pretty soon a buffalo will wander through. :eek: :p

Sandy, hope all the appointments go well for Jim.

Vonn, girl...you've always got a project going! :) Good luck with the lighthouse. I've gotten to where I think of you every time I see a picture of a lighthouse!

well, here in the northwoods ... I waited for an hour ... and ZERO kids or any type of life ... then, I killed the light ... and worked on a doily ... I would see a car go by .. nothing to run over to the door and turn on the light - so, I too, have leftover candy!!

worked on my budget for the month ... going to cut back on some things and stick close to home and work on stuff to sell ... so this would be a PLUS month compared to the last two months after the move! wah - really hit the pocketbook pretty hard ...

and I need a new laptop, eventually ...
