Good morning everyone...dreary, breezy and colder today... like a typical November day.

Sox, glad to hear your dad is doing better...what a great DD he has! And a great mom for your DS...all that cooking!

Dej, glad to hear Jack is doing better...you're a great mom to him...hope he's playing with his sis soon.

Got a whopping 4 hrs. of sleep last night...so I went back to bed for a bit this morning, and now planning my day. Got the November blahs so I think I'm going to dig my SAD light out of the closet and start using it...

DS35 is going to take our dog in again...when we have the floors refinished. Now we'll just have to find a place to eat, since we won't be able to go into the kitchen for a few days, and all of the furniture will be out of there and out of the family room as well. The guy said he'd seal off the room from the rest of the house...hope it keeps the dust to a minimum. But still...moving all the furniture/books, etc...quite a job next week. But it'll be worth it. The floor looks awful.

Well, hope all of you have a wonderful Thursday. Keep your chins up!

Where do I begin? Yesterday afternoon, a major water pipe in my building at school broke, flooded the subbasement with 3 1/2 feet of water, and knocked out the electricity in half of campus. The electricity is now back on on the rest of campus, but my building has no power, heat, or water. They are hoping they can get everything fixed by Monday. The university decided to relocate all of today's classes, but did not finalize the morning/early afternoon schedule until 7:00 this morning. They also did not email the faculty telling them of their plan. Great communication! I was giving a exam in my class and I decided to cancel it at 4:00 this morning (yes I was on and off the computer all night) thinking they were not going to relocate upper level classes. That was the rumor. Plus, I did not know if I could get access to my office to get the exams until I received a phone call from my chair at 8:00 this morning.

Some of the students are happy with the delay; some are upset with the postponement. I told them in an email that I would give them all 10 bonus points. And after three emails telling them that the test was postponed and class was canceled, they are still emailing me asking if we really are not having the exam or class As my stress level has gone up, my spasticity has increased and I am still coughing. I went into school and retrieved everything that I will need until the end of the semester. I thought by doing that, they will get the building reopened by Monday.

Sorry for the long rant -- I am so ready for the semester to be over.

Dej -- Nice to see you here!

I discovered today that antihistamines that claim to be non-drowsy do NOT work for me. Oh they stop the allergy attacks, but I slept more today than I do when taking regular antihistamines! I'm doomed to have itchy nose, ears, palate and lips.

Weather wise we are headed for a deep freeze this weekend. Friday night they predict we'll be down to 26. I guess we'll have to break down and turn the heat on tomorrow. We gathered what was left of the garden, except for two tiny cantaloupes that have no chance now.

My baby turns 15 today. One more year and he will be driving.. I thank God every day he is such an easy going kid. He fixes his own snacks and dinner most of the time. He does chores with rarely being asked... I'm waiting for rebellion to hit some day.. Pray it doesn't!! I need him to stay easy!

Me and my insomnia are going to try to go to sleep....

It is finally Friday. Went back to the doctors yesterday and was prescribed antibiotics (z pac). Hoping they help and do not screw up my digestive system too much. I need to get to school and find my classroom. this time it is in a building that has disability parking. Hopefully, there will be spots still available. Then I will have to look for a chair to sit on the the hallway until my class time. I am really, really hoping they get our building back in shape by Monday.

Hope you all have a good weekend!!!

Pam, Have you tried zyrtec? it does not make me sleepy. some of the antihistamines make me jittery and give me heart palpitations.

Hi all...sunny but cooler...

Barb, you poor thing Hope your class is open soon...

Pam, hope you find antihistamine that won't make you so drowsy...

Not much going on today...I had an appt. at 11 am and didn't have time to run to the gym to work out, so I got my Wii Fit out and jogged 3.2 miles in 20 minutes. My hair was dripping by the time I was done...it felt good to get moving...always a mood-booster when I work out.

DH and I only have a couple of things to do outside this weekend...get the pump out of the pond, and clean up the filters/waterfall...straighten out the shed, put solar lights away, and that's it. Then we can start on painting our bedroom, and we'll pretty much be done with the house. I would like to brighten up the basement...many years ago we put darkish panelling up, and DH wants to put lighter panelling up...it wouldn't be an arm and a leg. Then he could put his train/racing car set back together, and we can have fun with that.

Well, hope everyone has a great weekend...Don't forget to set your clocks back one hour, for all who do...

It was Zyrtec that I took! Claritin does me the same way. I've tried prescription strength and over the counter versions. I'm just too sensitive to the stuff I guess.

I'm going to try taking 1/2 a Zyrtec and take it about 8 at night and see how it works the next day.

Pam, I remember reading an article that suggested that you should take antihistamines at bedtime. It was written by an allergy specialist. I can't remember the reason why.

I just heard the weather report for tonight........brrrrrrr! It's going to get into the upper 20's and possibly sleet/snow! I'd better dig out my "granny gown" and slippers! I can tell you right now there'll be three little kitties in my bed tonight!

Kelly, it was 29 here last night. Expecting 25 tonight. It's a sunny 46 at almost 10am! It sure turned fast once that cold front slipped through.

My allergies seemed to have calmed down with the colder air. Hopefully it was just ragweed and it has settled for the season.

I've got some shopping to go do today, then home to start cleaning up around here. We took down our stereo system when we hooked the PC to the TV and it's still sitting at the bottom of the stairs waiting to go into storage. TOO much to do and too little energy!

I hope everyone has a great weekend!
